Acolyte Jin (Ranger Hero) bad use of traps.
NeHoMaR
I set Acolyte Jin (the female ranger hero) to resolve trapper and the only she do is randomly trap whatever she is, not at foot of foes, even equipping she with an axe, and if I equip she with a staff (for energy) she trap very far of the action (same with bow)
And, will be possible in final version change the mask of the ranger hero to W.Survival or B.Mastery or whatever??

The Heros have no A.I right now telling them HOW to use most skills.
You were told this before the event even started. On their website.
They know this. They just haven't made the hero's Intelligent yet. This IS just a preview mind you.

You have control of the heroes. So this should not be a problem, when you start the battle set the flag right in the middle of the enemies and she will run in.

Why would you even consider making her a trapper? Even without much AI, the heros and henchies are the best interrupters in the game, bar none. Set savage slash and distracting blow on the war hero, savage shot + distracting shot + punishing shot + concussion shot on jin. Its such a ridiculously good combination that most of your enemies wont get a chance to do anything.

I've set one of the monks to play bonder and set him to "passive"
he maintained all bonds using blessed sig, which i think is pretty impressive so the AI isn't all that bad
i have no idea why the ranger would randomly trap, maybe its set to defensive for her protection.

My Heros wont let themselves go under 0 Energy Regen (They flat out REFUSE to cast a maintained enchantment if they have 0 regen - even if I "check mark" the enchantment to cast).
So Mine cant have more than 4 bonds up >_> A bonder that bonds half the party is lame...
I tryed Friday, so maybe they've improved this feature in one of the updates. Who knows.

And if she is randomly setting traps that is because settings traps randomly is default AI. All the mosnters with traps do it. That's why you make sure to equip them with skills you know the game AI can use or you micromanage.
PS. Dankuro is a crappy healing monk but the girl whose name I can't spell who is a protection monk is a great healer monk.

The AI seems to be really bad atm.
Someone suggested setting the Ranger up as an interupter,in fact I did that, hoping for some Erys Vasburg/Daeman action.... nope, she just put up RTW and plinked away. I had to force the use of her interupts which is worse than me doing it myself. Hope this gets fixed, but I can see it being really hard.

It is possible to get your Ranger hero to charm a pet. Equip charm animal and use the hero control panel to activate the skill when you have a tameable creature targetted.
Don't know whether it's a bug or not, but after entering a town or outpost, the pet doesn't re-appear.

where you get the ranger hero....I beat the preview event...Only have 4 heroes, 2 monks, koss and a dervish...

About midway through, you get to choose one of two heroes that arrive from Cantha.
Quest starts at the docks, if memory serves.

you can press on your hero's skills (control pannel) when you lead them into battle, so maybe you could say when and where the ranger has to trap.

Did anyone else try using a monk as a MM?
works very very nice. i gave her OoB for some weird reason.. i could have just given another hench BR. but she raised 8 minions/horrors and kept them alive quite well. she even stuck death nova on them.
i love heros

Don't get your hopes up too much. AI is probably second only to the graphics engine in complexity and difficulty to improve.
ectospasm
Jin also spams spirits and healing spring soon after they die/runs out. (conflagration to be exact)

A.I. is VERY important this time, because they are using heroes as propaganda
