Speculation: 6th Dervish Form? (SPOILERS)
Horseman Of War
avatar of abbadon
for xx seconds you steal 100 points of balthazar faction with every successful hit and anyone you kill cannot be rezzed.
that would make my day.
(i dont think we will get any Avatar of abbadon/dhuum/margonite power/ or anything like it)

But, hey, I'm about to point out the obvious, so- The story for Prophecies, while fun, wasn't exactly original material. If anyone posting here had any play during the beta, it kind of felt like it was a hodge-podge of a bunch of cliche ideas thrown together. Not bad, no. But it certainly didn't wow me at any point. As for Factions, I was a bit confused by its story direction. So, we have a villain who's a villain because he.. SPOILERS AHEAD . . . . . . . . .. killed the emperor because the emperor was going to kill him because he was too powerful, and now he's angry because he died because he killed the emperor--so he's going to throw the universe out of alignment? A real bang-up job as casting him as the reluctant villain, Anet. It had a real great start, but.. once you realized both his motivations and the emperor's motivations, it became a kind of "DUR" story. Nightfall, so far, has been real entertaining. Here's hoping the folks at Anet don't bungle the story again. ;P |

1+1+1=3 What if we were to fight Varesh as part of the storyline, and she had the skill "Avatar of Abaddon", allowing her to transform into her god? This would of course be a monster skill, and thus not available for capture. Thoughts? Comments? _Zexion |

Horseman Of War
yo Zex- in case you cant tell I was joking :P
Can you imagine the amount of pissed off people if other people could steal away their faction??? lol
And additionally- I think Shiro is the most interesting character in GW to date. He alone made the Factions story interesting. well duh i know i guess there wasnt a story without him.... I just think they did a good job at portraying his madness, or as you pointed out- there is just as much mystery left to the story even AFTER its all said and done. Thats the best part to me, is the continued mystery of some of these key world-issues in the land of guidlswar

If there is an Avatar of Abaddon, it won't be useable by players, of course.
Giga Strike
duh, if it was usable by players anet would have mentioned it by now.

And Horseman, I was more refering to the "if we get one, it will not be for players", not the skill effect

a good story doesnt need pages and pages of backstory and exposition for it to be understood and entertaining, especially in the small doses guild wars gives you a story in.
Giga Strike
dude, this is a guild wars site, not star wars.

You all forget that we already met Abbadon (sp?) in Factions.

Her mind is warped by Abaddon. In the last mission during the Preview Event (I believe, or quest), you have to stop the evil presence from corrupting minds.
Plus, an Avatar of Abaddon skill would be useless other than PvP, simply because the storyline is you FIGHTING AGAINST Abaddon. It would be in complete contradiction.
Plus.. unessesary. The Dervish is -all- about the five gods. Down to the armor and weapon (I dunno how, but they are..). Th eonly acception are the few corrupted by the Ebil One himself.
I wouldn't want to see a skill like that. Just my opinion, of course.
Moo moo moo, moo-moo.
EDIT: Yes, I did read the first post. This is my opinion about it being a player skill. Monster skill.. still no. Abbadon is known to VERY VERY few. Thats why he was an unknown god, people. Barely anyone knows him. Like.. 1 in a million. I doubt that he would let his followers mimic his image, either.

Well, it would make sense of Abbadon was in both campaigns, yet.. not really -directly- involved. Like Abbadon's Mouth..

They probably had not even THOUGHT about naming the sixth god when they came up with that mundane and obvious name for an outpost :\
More SPECULATION FTW:
The Fortune Teller that corrupts Shiro...Looks ALOT like Verash's Old teacher that corrupts her into following Abbadon... By "Alot" I imply that they are the same person
Yes, Shiro killed the emperor ages ago, but disguised "little old ladies" are often more than they seem - IE: not human so "age" doesn't apply. Maybe an agent of Abbadon thats been working for centeries here to finally get him out?

ya, the best they could do with nightfall is have an epic battle-to-end-all-battles in the realm of torment. though an invasion of kourna from the sea would be very cool, kinda like a d-day kind of thing.
Fred Kiwi
I think theres going to be ascalon warriors, canthan assassins, the pirates, and the sunspears, and maybe even the people from the next chapter all traveling to the realm of torment to sort this abbadon guy out.
Anyway - off topic, but what the HELL are they gonna do for the next chapter? I cant think of anything they haven't really done. I dunno...antarctica? Middle earth? or maybe just a run around the entire planet saving the world, again.

CHUIU
I want an Avatar of Chuiu, but all 15 elites have been released for Paragon and Dervish already.
My Sweet Revenga
Could add tons more. Avatar of St Viktor, and Avatar of Archemorus. Avatar of Rurik.
Ooh how about those factions envoy guys. Avatar of bull headed guy. Avatar of dead necro lady. Avatar of guy who has hair like edward scissor hands and sounds like a woman. Avatar of short bearded old man who looks like a pervert..... The possibilities are endless!

On that note, I seem to be the only person who reads these forums, who actually completed ALL the Primary Quests during the event.
And to the actual topic: there cannot and will NOT be a Form of Abaddon. All Dervish Elites have been revealed with the PvE event.

That would be like saying "A skill such as Meditation of the Reaper is not gonna be in the game, as clearly it did not show up under assasin skills in the GWF WPE".
Besides, what forces them to show all forms in the WPE? Perhaps they will make it a player skill, and chose only to show it after release, and keep it hidden for the WPE:

As well, I never said that it couldn't be a monster skill, I said it couldn't be a Dervish elite.
Also, a Dervish using an Avatar of Abaddon would be the most blasphemous thing you can do, seeing how even Abaddon's name is supposed to be a bad thing to say.

i rekon a new class for the next add on should b like a shapeshifter. wid tons of form skills. a derv/shifter would OWN

Well they really can't have an Avatar of Abbadon as it wouldn't make much sense anymore once you finish the game as you're calling on their power.
Sidra
For those who don't know, there is a master level quest where you actually kill the Fortune Teller. Yeah, she DOES look a lot like Kahyet, but they are not the same person.
And yes, the Fortune Teller is directly influenced by Abaddon.

I'd say an avatar of the goddess of truths would be more likely. Although that would be a major spoiler.
achilles ankle
If they were to make an new avatar wouldnt it make more sense to make it based on ......... :MAJOR SPOILER ALERT DONT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE BEATEN THE NIGHTFALL GAME: kormir who at the end of the game transforms into the 6th god, which they actually say in the game. this would make the most sense i think, and maybe they could make it capable in the so called elite missions that are suppose to be coming out soon.
Hey i said major spoilers

They need to make the skill Thread Necromancy. :0
draxynnic
Thread Necromancy (E), Spell, Fast Casting, 5e, 1/4 casting time, recharge to be determined on balancing.
Repeat the last (0...3) skills used by the caster regardless of recharge (and without affecting the skill recharge), on the same targets. Normal energy costs, activation times, and targetting rules apply. If any of the skills repeated fail to repeat properly (due to insufficient energy, interruption, or invalid targets) the entire skill chain ends.
(Okay, Necromancy really should be a Necromancer skill, but the mechanics fit the Mesmer better...)
