No rollback....

So, they fixed the signet of might bug. Glad it happened fairly fast.

But, no rollback. Vilaptca: Do not post the names of Guilds or players when making accusations.

You have to feel a little sorry for the guilds who didn't go on a crazy exploit-fest in gvg as fast as they could, to see those who did going right up the ranking and being allowed to get away with it.

Now technically, i would've thought it was bannable (bug exploit against the EULA etc etc) but given just how many people were doing it that's not an option. But to just allow guilds to farm that much rating with a bug really doesn't seem right....

We know that a rollback is a workable option (remember the trader bug which led to a 2 day rollback?), and wouldn't you say it's also appropriate here?

(those guilds were just particularly visible examples which came to mind btw, i know there were many, many others)

I'm sure A-net are going to do something about this as no doubt they're fully aware of who's "cheated", but doing a rollback during a beta event is not really a viable option.

Hmm, perhaps not while the event is still going on, yeah. But after, perhaps?

If they were planning it, you'd hope for an announcement by now, though

I think ANet will do something against stuff like this, however not a rollback. The trader rollback was only a couple of hours, not days and they did it immediatly after the bug was found and fixed, they fixed this bug sunday.
Exploiting a bug is bannable so action will probably be taken.

However, naming guilds on here in a negative way is in turn against the forum rules.

It seems to me that A-net would be glad expoit/bug/whatever-you-call-it was found during the Preview weekend. They know that the new skills will be picked apart in ways that their testers may not think about. Did anything happen to all the guilds that shot up the ladder by using D/Mo's in the PvP weekend? I don't believe so.

I'm not saying I endorse what happened. I just see preview weekends for what they are...another process in the development of Guild Wars.

Well i did go out of my way to say those guild names were only examples....

But anyway - they certainly were doing what i accuse them of (anyone watching observer could tell you that) so i'm not sure why saying so could be a problem

They will take appropiate actions towards people who have abused the bug.

but not everyone is guilty of this since I've been playing the roleplaying part of the game and haven't unlucked that skill for my account so no way to blame me for that stupid abuse and I'll post a proof if someone wants that proof that I haven't even unlocked that skill.

Majority of players were testing out the new chapter for it's PvE aspect and most likely didn't even knew about the glitch til someone told them or read on the forums.

I sure hope there is no rollback, so what if people cheated, the "skilled" players will eventually trash them anyway. Drawing a parallel between this trivial matter and the trader exploit is simply laughable, do you realise how serious an impact the trader price reset has on the economy?

This? At worst we will just see some other unknown guild win the championships, that is if the others don't buck up somehow. There is no effect that's of permanence.

No, they won't. Well, not most of them. They'll have a laugh at it and laugh at arenanet for letting this bug get through, that's about it.

NO WAY SHERLOCK

you are seriously asking that the whole game population be locked out for most of a day like the trader rollback over something that only has an effect on a fraction of the players?

A new skill - signet of might - wasn't acting right and it would kill the Guild Lord / Ghostly hero in GvG and HA battles as soon as it timed out. (10 seconds to kill a guy with a large boatload of HP)

There's no need for a rollback. The one that they did was for an exterme situation that adversly affected the entire GW community. It's still early in the ladder season, and the cream of the GvG guilds will rise to the top eventually and the ones that can't compete well without using the bug will settle back towards the bottom.
