Possible helmet change?

I've heard a rumor that anet can change helmet stats, specifically my warrior's obsidian helmet. I bought it back before axe, sword, and hammer helmets were being sold, and I am now stuck with a +1 strength helmet, which is more or less useless unless I do a drok run (which I rarely do).

I heard that the helmet has been changed for someone else who was in a similar predicament as myself. I'm wondering if this is true and if I should approach the support team about this.

You can just ask them... only they can tell you if they'd do it or not.
