So awhile back i bought an AMD CPU to replace my old one, It hasnt been running at the right speed for awile now and i would like to know how to get it back up at the normal speed.
right now it runs at 1.21 ghz
AMD Sempron 3000+ Barton 2.0GHz Socket A Processor Model SDA3000DUT4D <--thats the procceser
and my motherbooard is, MSI, KT4A-V.
Any help would be apperciated.

Now i got it to run at 1.6ghz but still not the max.

When you go into the bios, go to the section where it asks for cpu fsb clock. The default setting is 100mhz. That CPU should be ran at 166mhz. Make sure your RAM is rated for the same speed (pc2700) or better or you'll then also have to change the settings for DRAM to what yours supports.

Yea, when i turn my computer on with the setting set and turbo it, which is the high speed in the bios, it runs at 16.ghz but then turns off after about 5 -10 mins.

Ask a friend who knows more about them, or something, (Everyone knows someone) because you dont seem to know enough about it to sort it, and dont seem to know exactly what were talking about to guide you, things Vary from PC to PC depending on make/model etc... all we can advise you is if you get into the bios, its usually under the "Advanced" menu (usually the second one) and under "CPU JumperFree" or "CPU Settings" or "Memory and CPU" etc... (often the first or second option(s)) -- and even then, once you get into there, you may not know what were talking about with 100mhz, 166mhz etc...

I would go to MSI and install the newest BIOS Firmware. Once you do that, it should auto-detect the newest settings.
