You have both games access to all characters, but only for the given game that they were introduced in.

Why not have the ability to start a Ritualist or Assasin in Tyria?

When NightFall comes out let those that buy it also make the Paragon and Dervish possible to start in Cantha and Tyria.

If you have the games I think you should be able to start any character in any campaign.

I've been thinking the same. I guess it wouldn't fit 'lore-wise'
They could MAKE it fit lore-wise by saying that because people traveled to cantha, they imitated assassins and rits there and brought the arts back to their home countries. Hope that makes sense, but basically they imitated the canthans

if there were sin's and rit's in Tyria, then they'd have to come up with non asian faces. More work for the dev's.

that is only the start of it. They would have to make professions specific quests in all the starting areas. Then add new armors because people would not because with having the same appearance in all 3 chapters. Then they would have to include weapons for the crafters/collectors and make those items also drop in the explorable areas. Then they would need to add new bosses so they could cap elites and other skills, and add skills to all the skill trainers...and on...and on...and on...

I forgot how it is in the Canthra starting area, but atleast in Pre-sear, as someone said above, you will have trouble in adding those proffessional trainers. I guess they could do some extra work and add in a code to detect if you have purchas those campigns... and add the extra quest in...

the way I see it they don't need to add more quests for the asssin or ritualist. there are common quests that every profession does but gives skills unique to that characters profession. I didn't think about pre trainers, armor or monster drops though...

yeah it could take a lot of time, but I still think that even if it took a long time due to low priority that I would buy a few extra character slots just to play them in the other campaigns from the beggining. I do like being able to travel back and forth between campaigns that is awesome. wouldn't change that at all. adds to the story and everything. there are friends though that don't have factions and won't have nightfall for a while and I like the assasin but can't play that campaign with them until they reach a certain point in it. if I were to backtrack to ascalon with my assasin I would not get any xp or skill points for doing anything with them. I like to help but it just seems like I am going nowhere when I am back there. I have done this with a few friends and I did all the work. it was to easy, we weren't working together and it was pretty boring.
