Warriors = Geriatrics Warders

VILAPTCA, Wow! You hit the nail on the head in the monk retirement post. I think this may actually be the end of human warriors, at least for most of the PvE element of Guild Wars. They are the easiest build to plan out, and for the most part, it doesn't necessarily matter the order in which skills are cast (obviously shocks and interrupts are the exception). Basically, gain adrenaline or let energy recharge and use the skill of your choice. Also, warriors as a class have the worst human players. It's basically a button mashing character for the most part, and 75% of human warriors just run into battle, scream for heals, and rage when they die. Ok, maybe that's a little bit of exageration, but many of you will understand what I'm saying. Human warriors do not seem to understand aggro for the most part, because they can handle more damage than any other class (again with rare exceptions). I would gladly give up 10%-20% of efficiency to have one that understands aggro and doesn't Leroy on my party.
This is in contract to support or caster characters. They have to understand how to handle aggro and distance much better. They also have more of a support/condition/hex concentration. It takes more human intelligence to time weakness, bleeding, cripple, etc. and coordinate that with warrirors/assassins buffs.
Unless I am in a group of friends, I will definitely NOT be looking for human warriors/assassins anymore.

Yea well, that's like, your opinion man.

Of course it is his opinion! Did he state otherwise? And is it wrong posting your opinion on a message board?

I agree to a certain point. I'm not sure how well Koss could run a dragonslash chain but I know for certain I'm taking him as an axeman.
As a warrior myself, I can say that some warriors can't manage aggro, but it goes both ways. There is no skill to hold aggro, so if the support characters, as you called them, insist on clinging to my back then you can't blame the warrior if the monsters take 5 steps around and rush them. Body blocking does only so much. I've noticed plenty of casters and rangers who don't seem to realise that standing at the edge of the radar is still in range for them. This is only for random pugs of course. If farming or going with guildies, most know to let you charge in first and get aggro before they attack, at max range.

As it is, though, I've only used henchie warriors, so this is nothing new to me. The only reason I've got a warrior is to solo with. I say bring on the awesome warrior AI, and say goodbye to swarms of W/Mo's in outposts!

henches will never replace human players. your dreaming if you truly believe wot your saying

Done? Okay now you saw the Dragon Slash Build as the Sword build he suggests? I'm going to go ahead and assume that the Dragon Slash Chain you spoke of is of this build, and I started out ordering Koss skill by skill to use in the beginning. Now, I don't know if this is AI or just what he would have done in the first place, but in a battle I forgot to order in what to do, and I looked and saw he was doing the same Chain of skills exactly when I would have ordered him to use it and did not ever use Healing Signet or Endure Pain (Put in Endure Instead and Healing Signet instead of Doylak and Wild/Distracting Blow) other than when he needed it.
Koss is my favorite Hero, maybe simply because I like to play on my Warrior, but he was the key element necesary to most of my battles, including when I died in Blacktide Den and he was able to tank and kill the General with just him and one monk.
The Monks work great as well as well if you set them up right. (I used one for Pure Healing and the other for Protection)
Btw, I have never been quoted so perhaps I will this time

Honestly, I'd turn that around to say: "human players will never replace henchies. you dreaming if you truly believe wot your saying." (holy crap it took a lot of will to type like that!)

I think certain Ranger builds can just as easily be done by the Heroes as well. Interrupts, Barrage/Pet, etc.
Until I know how to play EVERY profession perfectly, knowing the ins and outs of all their skills and attributes, and how to create my own build for the right scenario, then I will still be looking for things such as Mesmers, Elementalists and Monks (no idea if there are Assassin or Ritualist heroes).
But yeah, this is all about PvE. I would NEVER take a henchie or a hero over a person in any form of PvP.
If I can beat PvE with some of those absurd builds the henchmen have, then I can beat it a lot easier with the heroes and still without the help of other humans.

Back on topic, the point to PuGs is so you can either (a) socialise while advancing through the game, or (b) benefit from the experience of players who've done the mission before (if you're not confident of your ability to do it alone). Good ol' mending whammos are good enough to satisfy those two needs, even if they don't know the first thing about aggro management either.

I have a feeling Nightfall PvE is going to be very very easy indeed for experienced 'henchmasters', if the preview was at all representative. Having all skills unlocked and a having good grasp which builds work for NPCs and which don't, I breezed through the preview. In the bog, I got a bit cocky and completely cleared it using nothing but flag placements. I didn't contribute to a single battle.
I'm really hoping for some serious challenges in the full game.

Yes, because nuking actually takes way more skill than bashing around with a warrior. Yes, applying "Spiteful Spirit" to various monsters also takes way more skill, the same with summoning spirits or spamming conjure phantasm until a mob drops. /end sarcasm
I've had the same amount of semi-retarded casters and warriors. Most warriors, after a certain playtime, actually care for aggro way more than before, not only because of all the shouts and name-callings they get, but their very own survivability aka getting a spot into PUGs - making yourself renowned and not disdained, because there are plenty other warriors ready to take over.
PvE is not hard, you'll be able to completely hench through - it's no science and you should stop trying to make it look so. =)

Most of the times its the monks that doesnt know how to stay away from the aggro. And the warriors are the ones that will take the blame.

i can't see what the beef with assassins is. the few i have played with have been great. Some of them would take out targets by themselves and still have full health. people just play them wrong.
i will take guild members over heroes anytime. but then it's heroes>henchies>randoms
