Just a little oddity. For some reason the Necromancer and Assassin on the website are characterized with black hair, neither of which are available in game. (They should be) Just thought it was odd, considering either they were photoshopped before being put up or Anet actually went through the trouble to make black a possible hair color then just remove it?

Chances are, those character models were but prototypes for said class.

Since that page was probably made before the actual Factions release.

Um...I just rolled a Necromancer, both as a male AND female, and could get my hair to look exactly like that >_>

Maybe the fact that on the Guildwars.com site they are on a black background is messing up your color vision. The shading and such can get distorted by your eye when on a black background as opposed to in the lighting effects the game provides.

Umm... That is the darkest a Necromancers hair can get in game (Right). As you can see its not nearly as dark as the site picture. There is no arguement.

Neither is the armor or the red on the armor. To me it just looks like the lighting is very different all around.

Just look how much darker everything is.

judging by the rest of the body, I'd have to say they adjusted the saturation and/or contrast among other things. Even in that pic you posted, the blacks on the armor are much darker and the reds are much richer on the website version.

I wat irrated that my assassins couldn't get black hair and have to settle for some ugly dirty brown... same thing with some of the ele hair style which would only give you some dark gray.
Its weird how alot of faction toons don't have dark black hair when the very setting it was inspired from (Asia), everyone has black hair. Seems like somebody at Anet have a problem with making "Asian" characters look Asian. Even the faction promo girl assasins looks latino with purple hair.

Anyone notice how Nikka, the assasin that is on the factions box (and many other places), has purple hair, yet we can't have purple hair for our assassins? She is sort of like a representative of assassins, yet we can't even get purple hair like her! I know it's something really small, but it annoys me so much...

ummm...that is the way things go with all proffession. Ele's can't look like Cynn, Necros can't look like Eve, Rangers can't look like Aidan, Warriors can't look like Devona, Monks can't look like Mehnlo, etc.

Seriously, why are you letting something as small and pointless as not being able to look like Nikka or not looking exactly like the images on the website make you so angry? If that is the worst thing going on in your life, you are doing pretty well.

I dunno about you but this is pretty close and I wasn't trying to get my Warrior to look like Devona.

It's just a trick of the light.

No black dyes were used on this armor. In fact, it's standard collectors armour.

He doesn't want a look alike, what he wants is the hair color. Sure you can't make look alikes of Devonna, Cynn, Eve, Aidan, Mhenlo. But you can get their hair colors and in some cases their hair cuts.

I assure you no matter how dark the lighting is. The one on the left is jet black, while in game you can only achieve a dark grey with a purpleish hue. I've taken a character like that to dark areas of the game like Echovald Forest, faced him away from the light source and still not nearly as dark as a true black hair color.

It's not jet black. Look closer. Those bright spots are not reflections on his head.
