what am i downloading?

I don't know if people with high-speed connection notice this, but being on 56k, i've noticed that with almost every single loading screen, I need to download at least 1 file, wich sometime goes above 1Mo, be it in pre-sear or in faction(in fact it's worse in faction so i try not to hang out there too much). To give you an idea, 1Mo takes me about 4 min to download on GW.

Now, I know that by playing with such an internet speed i should not complain about it being too slow, but can anybody tell me what am I downloading every time i rezone. Is it just my comp that's falling apart or something more? I'm starting to hope for the 29-file loading screens, at least they are shorter.

I assume by Mo you mean Mb? If it really bugs you, right click the GW shortcut and type a space and then -image next to the "C:\ program files\ guild wars \gw.exe". That will download and unpack all files. Then remove it when it's done.

on 56k, this will take hours, perhaps days. but you can always stop it and start later. this will download EVERYTHING there is to download. another option is leaving the char selection screen up, which DL's some of the extra files
