ability to 'mark' targets, pvp'ers dream
SilentVex
One of the biggest hindrances to pvp'ers (especially adrenaline spikes) is tab time. There needs to be an ability to 'mark' a target so you can come back to it later at the touch of a button (along the lines of the leader marking a target to spike, but only for you, and permanent until you mark a different target). This is especially the case on alter maps where you have 24 people, plus 3 ghosts, pets, spirits, and minions. Tab = useless. If your job is to interrupt the red ghostly, you have to pan the camera from whatever you were doing before, pick through 4 iway warriors + pets to select the red ghostly, then get an interrupt off (often cutting it close). The same applies to any time you're expected to do a specific job (ie shutting down a warder), and get in on spikes at the same time. Selecting an enemy shouldn't be that big a deal.

hold Ctrl while attacking, and use the T button

Right, that's how you mark a target for allies to attack. It gets overwritten the next time anyone calls another target. I want to mark a target for myself only, and come back to it whenever I want, as many times as I want.

I suggest you start playing organised HoH with Vent or TS and guildies, where all the people call the same person. So someone calls the same person at 3-5 second intervals, just before the 't' option becomes redundant. That way, when you press T you have your spike target.
Seriously.

Never had any problem controling targets and quite franquily can't imagine how you ever could since even when I play w/out TS or VENT I still can communicate pretty well by txt...

audioaxes....actualy playing GVG is a breeze since ANY well formed guild tend to maintain their front / mid and back lines, SO finding enemys on the screen pressing CRTL and selecting whith the mouse is easy as hell...
ON HA the problem is a bit higher since not everyone sticks to a closed formation, and also, some of the map terrains does not help a lot doin this...
The closest I ever got to the problem you just described is trying to find an MM in the middle of 24 + NPCs people during AB's....and even then, it is not all that hard.
I also think that this, lets say, "difficult" of finding the enemy is a nice feature of the gameplay mechanics....makes things more interesting and challenging (even though I still find it easy as hell to perform).
Finding an enemy during an intense battle is a PLAYER skill that is required to high end pvp...and not a feature embedded on the interface...no thanks!
***EDIT: and another thing I forgot to mention....how the HELL can't you guys find the Ghost HERO?!?!?!?! He is twice the size of anyone else, carries a 10feet battle axe and he got white powder all over him (;D)!!!!! Saying that you have trouble targetting an specifc enemy or a black widow that is giving you trouble is one thing....but the GHOST?!?!?! CMON!!! When he is capturing the altar, he even have a big purple glowing "thing" over his head!!! It's almost like he is screaming for you guys to interrupt him ^^

Definate would like to see something like this, it's so annoying swapping to the called target to spike, then spending up to 5s just trying to find and select the target I was on before. Or as mentioned, trying to find/select the Ghostly Hero through the sea of players, pets and spirits on altar maps where its crucial to be able to interrupt on demand.

Its only making something already ridiculously easy a bit easier, so I don't see any harm done.

While it is true that professional Guilds on Vent or TS will always have leaders who always call their man fast and efficiently, that does not equate to the suggestion being a bad idea. It would make the gameplay deeper by allowing them to spend time on more things rather than digging out their targets manually every time. Plus not everyone uses Vent or TS and they are at a huge disadvantage in regards to no ability to mark targets.
What it should be is you press CTRL + The "F Keys" at the top of the keyboard and then whichever "F Key" you pressed whild holding down CTRL now calls up the marked target when you press it again. And you can set up multiple marked targets this way using multiple "F Keys".
There is absolutely no downside to putting this into the game and it would make gameplay smoother and better.
Great idea, SilentVex!

When playing Crip Shot / Melandru's, sometimes you are chosen by the leader to mark a specific target (usually Monk, Rit at times). However, your job is also to spread Degen. This makes it so that you need to Tab through everyone and get back to the target. If you called the target, it might overide someone else's target. This can lead to confusion.
Yes we use Vent. No we're not a crap guild.
If both of the above are false, explain how we can maintain rank 100-175.

doesn't pressing "T" will target you to the call target? (or clicking on that target sig next to the party name)
/Sign caus it seem helpful to the game.
Also how about where when you call target, it will highlight (or add some kind of marker or glowie aura thingie) to the target, making it easier to spot whats the call target.

When I call for blood spike I will do something to the effect of:
Find target, tab once past it, call fake spike, go back to previous target and spike that target. I don't always end up getting my intended target which causes wasted time+energy.
