Just in case anyone needs to pick up one or the other (or both). These prices are in-store, as well...and they're for the standard edition, obviously.
GW Prophecies: $38
GW Factions: $30

Just out of curiosity, what is different about the special edition?
Mr_T_bot
Why bother? Prophecies is dead and Factions sucks and soon to be dead.

Wow, I find it odd though that Factions is cheaper than Prophecies... You'd think, being the older game, Prophecies would be.
And, me and my friend continue to play both Prophecies and Factions regularly, we've been working on capping elites lately and exploring most of Tyria as well as advancing as many of our chars to Cantha and back to run through missions and the like. I believe that Prophecies will be dead when Runners no longer exist in Beacon's Perch, until then, Prophecies lives as much as any of the rest of us do.

I would say that I play both quite often as well, thank you.

Out of stock at circut city.

Yeah, looks like GWF is OoS online at CC. GWP is still available. Unfortunately, there's no way to check in-store inventory from the website, so you'll have to call your local CC to see if it's in stock if you want to save yourself a drive.
As this is advertised in the weekly ad (page 10 in mine), you can take this ad to Best Buy for a price match. Might also be able to do the same at CompUSA, but I'm not too familiar with their price match policies.

If you are about to make a purchase and discover a lower advertised price offered by a local retail competitor on the same available brand and model, let us know and we'll match that price on the spot. Already bought? We'll refund you the price difference, plus an additional 10% of that difference up to 30 days after your purchase (14 days on select categories*). Either way, simply bring in proof of price while that lower price is in effect. Exclusions apply. See details below. Policy may also vary between stores. See store for complete details. Exclusions: The Best Buy Price Guarantee does not apply to our or our competitors' free offers, limited-quantity items, open-box items, clearance items, mail-in incentives, financing or bundle offers. The policy does not apply to typographical errors or a competitor's price that results from a price match. What is considered a local retail competitor? A retail store located in the same market area as your local Best Buy store. What is considered "proof" of price? If you have already purchased the item, the best way to show proof of price is to bring in your original Best Buy receipt, plus the competitor's current ad. We reserve the right to call the competitor's store to verify the lower price and availability of the item. |

I think Factions is cheaper due to the shortness of the game compared to Prophecies...but I would think Factions would cost more.

I dunno if this is world wide or not, but when I pre-ordered NightFall at EB Games they had a sale going on that was not bad.
IF you pre-ordered NightFall then you could get GWP at $10 off and GWF at $15 off.
I already have them so no discount for me, but hey, there it is.

I don't know why you think that. When ever I'm just looking to
kill time, I always go back to Prophecies missions for fun.
Factions missions are totally tedious and uninteresting, I would
never redo any of them just because they were fun. Every
evening when I log on, I look through the missions available in
both editions. Once one of my characters has finished a factions
mission I've never had any interest in doing it again.
I'm always willing to do a prophecies mission again, I do expect
them to be willing to do the bonus too, but only because it's not
that hard and they should be up to the challange.
Factions bonus' are all about rushing through the game. That's
not something I'm intrested in. I don't work all day so I can come
home in the evening and feel harrassed, that works for some
people, but not for me. The whole gogogogogo mentality doesn't
work for me, when I join a group and someone starts that crap, I
leave and find another group.
