"6th" town in pre-searing?

I Apologize if this is in the wrong section, however two separate people told me, that if one should be able to clear out the Northlands of Charr and/or kill the 4 char bosses, a portal opens up which takes you to a 6th outpost, called, the battle land, or battle zone, something of that nature. I’ve never heard of this before, is there any truth to this?

Thanks. Yes I should do that also, but I haven't been in pre for so long, and someone tells me that, I figure I might have missed something.

Lol its impossible to actually do that, your lvl limits you, and there are too many char in that area to fight back. The 4 bosses alone could kill you

Um its dead easy to clear the northlands out in a duo, and a lvl 10 W/R can easily solo it.

Keep Troll unguent up at all times to nullify degen and heal sig when you need a little boost of health... Rely on Sever Artery to cause bleeding and let your foes bleed to death. Occasionaly hit with Gash to speed it up a little bit.

As for luring, each group has its own path at the boss bit... So it's just a case of luring with a longbow. Clear the floor out then lure 1 boss at a time. Only one who's a pain is the monk 1 because he uses heal area but even then he's healing you to...

No, it's quite possible to clear out all of the Northlands. How do you think people get to level 14/15/16 in pre? They certainly don't kill skale.

Actually, the killing of the Charr army has been done, probably by many people. A guildie of mine did it as a MM, can't say what level he was at the time, because it was quite a while ago. As for being limited by level, there have been several people who have reached level 20 in pre.

As for the 6th town, I doubt it. It would have been found and brought to everyone's attention within 2 months of the game's release!

I killed those boss char with a level 8-9 N/Me Fragger paired with a Warrior of some sort. It's been a long time, so I don't remember his second class. What I do remember is that dying didn't remove Moral Boosts like in Post, the Boss Char drop Runes on the rare occasion (not that you can salvage them without leaving Pre) and there is no town to the north of the wall. There *is* a spot where a town will be in Post, but it's not an actual town. Also, the area where the boss charr are is the area from the first co-op mission, so there can't be a town there anyway.

There is no death penalty in pre and those bosses aren't the only ones dropping runes there.

You used to be able to get to level 20 in Pre with a clever combination of quest rewards and EXP from killing level 20 Charr. You would do this by letting the Charr kill you repeatedly, so much that they gain EXP and levels. Repeat until they gain no more EXP. This doesn't work anymore because monsters and pets no longer gain EXP from killing you.

I’ve cleared the Northlands many, many times with my Ranger that I keep permanently stationed in Pre to help friends and so on. There is no hidden city there. There is an “area” that is where Piken Square will be in Post, but no mysterious city or portal. This may be what these people are referring too. Look at it as a GW urban legend.

Bzzt. Wrong. Thanks for playing, try again next week!

Animals and Foes can still gain experience by repeatedly pounding you into the ground. The reason the old methods of Charr-leveling don't work anymore is because ArenaNet fixed the aggro system. The Charr no longer follow you for endless miles (i.e. to the Resurrection Shrine), so leveling them would take far too long. It's still possible to do, but nobody (with the exception of a few people) has the patience to do it. However, there are a couple of other areas where you can still easily level aggressive units...

My Perma-Pre Ranger is hoping to be level 20 within the next month or so.

Yeah, I don't have the time or patience. My Ranger is level 14, so I still get a little XP from the bosses, but I can't spend a day leveling up Charr so I can get XP from them.
