Rez Shrine Camping Critters
Corwin_Andros
Just something that is becoming a bit of a peev of mine. Quite a few times, especially in the past few days, I've had some problems where a mob, sometimes more than one will all but sit on the rez shrine... providing instant death before I or my group can even remotely prepare to fight them off.
It sucks bad when even a full party gets wiped in the first few seconds because we were attacked while standing up, but it's pure hell if you are out solo farming.
I know there likely isn't a lot that can be done about it, but it still bites hard when you go from a 15% dp to 60% in about a minute because you can't fight or run long enough to get a spell off to protect yoruself from a mob of lvl 24+ baddies. Several times I've just had to map out to the nearest place and start completely over.
I know I'm not the world's best player, but damn it gets aggravating. Do any of the rest of you have this problem? I guess I'm just griping more than anything, but if the problem I'm having is wide spread enough, maybe we could see about getting ANet to give those rez shrines a bit of space or something to always give everyone a fair shot at recovering after rezzing.

its even worse when the group you were attacking has agro on you still, so then its not just the mob on the rez shrine but the other one that was close to the shrine and still has agro so they come running to... 30min battle ftl!

Ice Imps? In The Ice Flow?
Avicara in Mineral Springs?
Been there...the worst is when the Avicara come through the portal into Tasca's Demise...talk about a bad day.

Worst run of rez camping mobs I had to deal with was in Sorrows Furnace. Prot monk bosses and people that leave severely suck when combined.

They tryed to help with this when they put the "3 seconds of invinicibility" thing on REzzing.
For ~3 secs after you rez you cant be knocked down and cant take dmg (though you can degen).

The 3 second thing does help a bit in larger parties, but not really any help when you are soloing. I'm not all that great a farmer anyhow.. seem to still spend money as fast as I make it... but when 4-6 avacara pounce on me while I'm still standing up and regrouping my weapons and armor setup, it usually takes me a few deaths to stand even a minute chance.
I finally made a 55 monk for farming after over a year of avoiding it just to help with getting cash for skills and guildhall upgrades and I can't stand hawking my stuff on the trade channel, not having that kind of patience.
I can usually handle up to 3 deaths on a run with reconfiguring.. but this getting killed 6 times in a minute at the rez shine is for the birds.. or mostly because of the damned birds
I do have to say I enjoy getting back at those interupting bastages if I manage to get away from them long enough to pull myself together tho.

I've seen three groups come through, much to my surprise. Got me they did.
Outside Lion's Arch, the rez shrine is on the path the fire imps use for their daily jog. When the game was new, it was about 12 fire imps! Sort of like dying and finding that you had gone to the hot place!
I think the devs consider this a game feature. There are too many examples of it.

Don't cry because the game doesn't like your Solo-farmer, its designed like that, to make it as hard for solofarmers as possible - while still making it possible for those that understand the risks.

The thing that annoys me the most is when fighting an animating necro near the shrine. You keep getting killed and your corpses keep getting animated and used against you.

Like I said, I don't go out to make a mint in item resales. I think I've maybe sold one item so far for 1k and have another in the trade forum. I'm not interested really in being a merchant prince that takes advantage of others with outrageous prices for things. I just want to make enough to keep my head above water getting all of my 11 characters a bit better prepared for Nightfall. So if you are one of those Anti-farmer types (as it seems from the tone of your message), you are barking up the wrong tree here.
The soloing example was just that... an example. I could have just as easily used the example of having my party of 8 getting repeatedly creamed by about 20 Stone Summit, Seige Golems, and Ice Imps at the rez shrine in Icedome the other night. My farming misadventure was from just this morning before work and so was the most recent experience.
As for the thing with the Avacara zoning into Tasca's Demise, I haven't had that problem yet, but feel for you that have. That seriously makes no sense.
