Using Runes for your secondary class

Right now it feels like there aren't many builds that use a plethora of secondary abilities. In many ways this is probably a good thing... it would be bad if an ele/ranger could shoot a bow better than a ranger/ele. However, I've been toying around with the idea of what would happen if we could use runes for our secondary class. With being able to go above rank 12, we might see some VERY unique builds emerge that we currently almost completely ignore.

Here are my ideas
1. Allow all runes to be used on characters, but double the HP penalty for runes used from your secondary class. (IE: 150 instead of 75 off for a superior rune)

2. Allow all MINOR runes to be used on characters, but not majors or superiors.

Opinions?

Better off keeping things as they are - note "Secondary" Profession not "Primary", so shouldnt have the same set of attributes available as it'll defeat the whole object of the Primary Class.

There is no point for that...

It would screw the balance...

No one sane would like -150hp out of ONE rune....99% of people do not use 2 sups anyways, and that is +6 atbs...+3 for 150hp pennality is just....no tkz.

Latter.

150 seems much.
And it doesn't seem like the +1 would be worth making this big change.

touchers with a major blood rune and minor soul reaping? just that should give you an inkling as to why this isn't available in the game.

If you want to let people use runes from the other professions, fine but they should only work for 20% of the time and in the case of superior and major, you always have the hp penalty.

And no primary runes either so we don't have whammo's with points in divine favor or anything like that.

Why not just enable the class to use all non primary skill runes for the 2nd class (Expert only for Ranger, Energy Storage only for Elementalist Etc…) with no extra penalties just the loss of health. Since the core class gets the special armor which adds +1 Attribute no secondary class would pass them in attributes.

Whoa whoa guys, I didn't say that you'd get the "primary attribute" of your secondary class. Nor can you get the +1 headpiece for your secondary class. I'm just trying to liven up the diversity of builds while still giving you a reason to play a primary class instead of a secondary one!

Diversity of builds? You do realize that there are currently 56 different possible class combinations and when Nightfall is released, that number will jump to 90. People are just hung up on using flipping cookie cutter builds and won't use their own imagination.
