i know theres a tone of threads on this but none of them seemed to have helped and im about to throw the pc out of the window,....
Im a level20 Necro/Ele. I have a 11-22 staff. I equipped all naff skills except obsideon flame and life siphon. He is just beating the hell out of me with just his bow and im not doing any damage! What am i doing wrong??? Ive i equip skills he just beats the hell out of me with them istead and i cant even get an attack in. I cant heal up either. Any help guys???

Remove points from blood and equip all the sacrificing skills you have. Bring some worthless elemental skills to waste his time (attunements, I don't know?). Cast area affect spells on him and when he casts them on you then move out of them.
I just did this as ne/ra and while he was casting his sacrifices and attacking my pet I set traps then lured him onto them, game over.

Since you are necro primary why not max out Curses (no other att points used) and fill your skill bar with sacrafice skills:
Cast Insidious Parasite on Doppleganger. Then Kite. He will Sac himself to death and heal you while he is at it.

My daughter couldn't seem to get her N/E through there, and left in a dark frame of mind. While she was gone, I just took it on myself to temporarily turn her into a nuker. Dropped Meteor Shower going in, and before it could get up for the last time, I finished it off. It was over in a hurry.

if u dont want the bonus u can do what i did wit my necro when he was only lvl 13. go in wit some crappy enchantment hell usually turn it on in the beginning, thisll give u time to run back to where those 2 slanted hill things are. get between them, now everytime u see him shoot u wit his bow, move to the opposite direction. dont rapidly tap left and right, hell still hit u. but if u go drastic amounts each direction itll cause him to miss greatly! Make sure u have a fast casting weapon an everytime he shoots dodge shoot dodge shoot continue for a few minutes an its over

It took me 10 tries to get my E/Me thru Doppleganger. I found it is the order in which you equip skills. Left to right - useless skills with long cast times and no real benefit. Air attunement, earth attunement, 1 other useless skill. Then high damage skills. Put Backfire in last slot. You cast backfire as soon as you get there, while the dopple casts the useless ones. Then when it starts on the damage skills, down it goes in less than 10 secs. I know you are talking N/E, but a similar skill arangement may help.

I think the necro was definitely the easiest doppleganger for me to beat...or at least most enjoyable. I did pretty much what you other guys did by loading skills that will make him kill himself. Funny to see how stupid AI can be sometimes.

Thanks for all of the advice! Only two tries to kill my Doppleganger, and he went down in about 10 seconds
I've read the left to right spell bar activation tips, but I swear the Dop just went straight for the spell I have in slot 7. No worries though - Backfire was in slot 8, so after I cast that one he was down for the count.

i beat him first try at lvl 16, useless stuff from 1 thro 7 number 8 SS 16 curses, target him when you go in, cast SS wand him to death, i used bleesed aura, mark of pain, life atunment, and others

Doppel can't use healing breeze btw. Iron Mist + flare combo is good too.

Not true. Dopple can, and does, use HB, but only to counteract against health degen and it doesn't always use it even then...it is the same with most (all?) AI in the game.
There are a ton of myths about the dopple and most of them are not true...
EDIT: Added a picture because it really bugs me that much. Oh yeah, and that setup killed him in about 12 seconds even though he used HB. I had to go back in and do it again because he died too fast and I didn't get the screenie the first time.

The original thing was the dopple only used breeze against degen but that seems to have got lost along the line.

Well, you could be a Canthan... or, in a few weeks, Elonian - character who's picked up elites from their homeland...

A few weeks ago there was I in Augury Rock minding my own bussiness. Between the usual local "QF anyone?" there was a question that left me speachless. A necro was spamming "Anyone have a good MM build to beat doppelganger?"... Few seconds later local was filled with "WTF?" and the like. These cookie-cutter builds have gotten WAY out of control.
