Prima Guide sold out?

Oh so true

i am not sure why anyone would worry why someone else would buy a guide. I collect things guildwars. A guide is another piece of my collection. to each his own i guess.

Just like mentioned above- Inaccurate or not, I always buy them too. They're just fun to read.

I remember the Outpost tip book, it was better reading than the game was playing. I just wish that they had released it like they let PC Gamer test it.

I remember where they talked about an actual test conducted where they put a rooster they put in a centerfuge at 2x earth gravity for a long time, like a month I think it was. When they let it out it killed all the hens and flew over the fence and got away.

I went hunting for it yesterday. Gamestop and Amazon has it with an October 3rd release date. However neither of them actually have it. It is a 3-4 week wait for delivery.

Has anyone been able to find it?
Does anyone have it?
Does it have a map in it like the other two strategy guides?
Does anyone know anything about actual release?
How about the guides for the other two games, how did their release work?

And just to make this thread a little more useful...what do you think of the strategy guides?

Does anyone here use strategy guides. I'm much more of a PvE person myself so they can be valuable. Mostly for maps. I actually mounted the first two maps in frames on my wall (that third empty frame sure is lonely though ). I have been finding that a lot of info in them is kind of obsolete due to game updates over the past year and a half.

Guide is not out yet - and probably wont be until end of Oct / early Nov

Do you have a source for that info? Do you have a release date?

I think the guide is gonna come out after the game maybe. if i remember right, thats how it was for the factions guide

no "official" source - but no one I know has it

Oh crap. Sorry about that. I missed that thread completely. Thank you, that answers pretty much all of my questions.

I looks like not even Prima knows when the book is coming out. But if most folks got the other books around game release time then I will assume it will come out then for Nightfall as well.

Too bad about all of the online retailers having the wrong release date .

As I just posted elsewhere in the forum: We have not announced a strategy guide at all. Whatever information you have received is incorrect.

I will ask if we have information about this that we can share, but I imagine it will be a week or two before we have any sort of announcement to make.

Hurm.... Well I don't feel nearly as bad now.

Thing is... there's an ISBN for it. SOMONE's publishing it at SOME Time. It's on more than one website and all.

Meh. Probably get the heads up when Gaile said, a smidge before the game itself, like with Factions.

This WOULD explain why no site had a cover for it yet.

Its been PUBLISHED, just not distributed yet, Possibly not even Printed yet.
Publication dates is used in copyright laws for basically starting their Rights Clock on the material.
It couldn't have a valid ISBN number if it wasn't going to be Published.

However Anet may not sanction this one as they did with FACTIONS.

If so , Oh well. The first one, even with all its errors, was a welcome aide and served as something to update over time.

There obviously is one, just wait a few weeks. No big deal.
This one lists Prima as the author while Factions lists Anet so...... [something].

as for when the guid will be available to us...my guess is 1 week befor the release. That is when the proph and factions guid(s) where on the shelves by.
I bought mine the first day they had 1 and that was 1 week befor the game. hope this helps.

my amazon order for it was set to deliver after 10-3-06... and it now says delivery estimate 10-18-06 <-> 10-26-06.


I think im gonna cancel my order and buy some pizza. Just wanted to have it to read over until the games out... but if the game is out before the guide then i guess i dont need it huh?

After asking Prima if they planned to release a stratagy guide for Nightfall I was disappointed to here that the project was cancelled. I would like to know why, and who will be making the "Official Guide"? I mean come on the giant world poster rocked and i liked having a skill list in front of me instead of having to look it up all the damm time. If A-Net doesn't put 1 out then they just suck.

1. All the swag is going to the CE version.

2. Why pay for the guide when all the info will be on Guildwiki in 2 weeks after release?

It was cancelled? I pre-ordered it from Amazon and it says It should arrive this week.

This sucks, I was expecting to get it this week.
