Changing Music?

I noticed when I was doing the WPE, that many times, when I started a battle, or got close to an ememy, or targeted an enemy, or even looked at an enemy sometimes, the music would change.

Now I'm not saying change is bad, but I think that making "combat music" is a little pointless. On average my fights lasted maximum 1 minute against an average group, meaning that I was always hearing just parts of the music.

For example; every time I started fighting, the music I was listening to would fade off, and the combat music would start. But, because I usually finnished so quickly, the music would fade, causing the music I was originally listening to to start all over again.

I know that the idea was with good intentions, but I just found that it didn't work for me; I like to hear music in its entirety.

I think the concept is great, but it was overly sensitive some times, and didnt start until too late at others. Something like Serious Sam would be ideal; as soon as a monster aggros you, the music gets upbeat, and once they dont anymore, either by forgetting about you or by being killed, it calms down to normal.

I too liked the combat music. I hope in future releases they take the idea further.

There are some things that trigger combat music that aren't combat reliant. Sacrificing health I believe it was stated by someone during the event, triggered the start of combat music even if there wasn't an enemy on radar.

They need to layer music better.

Have the normal music going then when you get into combat speed up the drums and if someone drops below a certain ammount of health have the rest of the music speed up and maybe play a new song. That way we don't get too dramatic over every little thing.

I like GW even more now that it has battle music, which is pretty much a staple in any RPGs. They also did this for a certain battle in Sorrow's Furnace. However, I do agree that it can get overly dramatic at times. Like when I began my EPIC boss battle with the..... Suit of 15 Armor.

Just to clarify, I thing I dislike the most is how sensitive and abrupt the music changes were.

Maybe if they were more subtle I wouldn't mind, rather than there being an obvious change (music fades...nothing...combat music starts).

Based off past experiences with Anet we all can admit that the buggyness of the combat music will be unexistant when its released. I doubt they'll take it out though, and I hope they won't.
