I checked BestBuy's web site for any new information on the Nightfall Bonus Pack.
Interestingly it is no longer even listed on the site.
I next check GW's site and BestBuy and CompUSA are no longer even listed as a carriers of the Bonus Pack.
http://www.guildwars.com/support/whe...prerelease.php
I know there still 23 days until the release of Nightfall, and personally I understand that things can be delayed in manufacturing and the shipping and distribution process.
However, Its the fact that the Bonus pack was clearly touted by the company as *expected* in stores on the 15th that bugs me.
Why cant we just get a quick update from them saying - *Hey all - we're delayed a bit - the Bonus packs will be fully available on XX/XX/2006.
Its the secrecy that bothers many people - just tell us so we'll stop looking for the Bonus in stores that do not have them.
Best Buy + Pre-Release Bonus Pack = WARNING! [Merged]

Got mine from my local Gamestop
I vowed to stop doing buisiness with Best Buy. I went in for a headset/mic that cost around twenty dollars. I saw one that had clearly been repackaged, and so I inquired as to why instead of costing eighteen dollars as it was marked on the isle, that it was twenty three dollars. I was informed that this was due to the "Restocking Fee"... Bog, charge the person returning the item, and the next customer to purchase it both a restocking fee? That's ridiculous... [/rant]

It's kinda funny watching the spiral of negativity towards Best Buy [the company] because of misinformation.
The person that had the bad experience had a bad experience because of a select few employees (namely anyone working the computer department [even this is stretching it] and whatever employee answered the inquiry).
This is something you will find at most any place of business so it's always fun to watch people get irate over the littlest of things. Not saying it's happening here, just saying that it's funny in the larger scheme of things.
The re-stocking fee policy is on the back of every receipt and does not include headsets.
What happened is that the price on the headset went down while the computer department failed to manually change the price of the open item. It's supposed to be 10% off the current cost.
What FURTHER happened is either confusion or inexperience of the employee that attributed it to a re-stocking fee and not just plain failure to execute procedure.
Anyways...
I haven't checked the website availability, but the stores themselves should have the bonus packs. I physically have mine in hand and it just came in today (Frisco, TX).

There is the PRE-RELEASE BONUS PACK and the PRE-ORDER BOX.
These are two SEPARATE items.
The pre-release bonus pack, by itself, is 9.99 + tax. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TOWARDS THE GAME! It is a separate standalone product.
The pre-order box, by itself, is 10.00. This DOES apply towards the game.
When you buy BOTH products AT THE SAME TIME, you get a $5 discount on the pre-release bonus pack.
..but again..
You would still only get $10 towards the game when it comes out (not $14.99).
The packaging doesn't make this clear (or maybe I'm just really tired, heh).

Those of us in the local retail industry would like to thank you for doing all of your business directly instead of through our outlets.
We need the extra time unemployment will bring when we have to colse down to play more games. Please keep it to yourself when you no longer have a local store to shop in or trade in old games. (we won't be around to care)
