Frustration: Hex Spell. For 5...17 seconds, target foe casts Spells 50% slower and takes 5...41 damage whenever interrupted while casting a Spell. 10 1 15

Migraine: Elite Hex Spell. For the next 5...17 seconds, target foe suffers health degeneration of 1...3 and takes 100% longer to cast spells. 10 2 15

Ok, so frustration is the same thing, except the damage is on interupt instead of degen, half the cast time, and its not even an elite. People use migraine now which is already good spell... does anyone else see a problem here?

1 interupt every 7 seconds is the equivalent damage.... which means more than likely frustration will do more damage...

Migraine: 100% vs 50% slowdown on spell casting. Health degen is constant damage, and doesn't have to be interupted when casting a spell.

One has damage that is conditional, the other doesn't, and the spell slowdown is the real kicker.

Frustration+Arcane Larceny+Power Spike= gg echo nuker.

Migraine is still pretty sweet.

I find the difference in wording interesting. "Takes 100% longer" vs "casts 50% slower". Why did they do it that way, I wonder?

Say hello to ol' Arcane Conundrum. BTW, they'll probably cap the cast rate off (i.e. like they did to Defile Flash + Lingering Curse.)

probably because it will stack with Migrane and Arcane Conundrum. Signets aren't spells however, and I can usually keep myself alive with my monk vs an interupt build that uses these skills.... All three of those stacked with Dazed? Fear that man, fear it...

They capped the degree to which you can decrease an enemy's spell casting time, didn't they?

It's capped at a 150% increase in cast time.

I don't see why we have to choose at all..if Ensigns right..migraine + frustration =150. ftw. Unless you wanted to use frustration + signet of illusions + power spike/leak/etc etc..idk.

Because they're both elites?

50% slowdown = twice as long to cast....
100% increase = twice as long to cast.... tough logic there........

true the frustration damage is conditional but potentially does a lot more damage than migraine... and by potentially I mean WILL do more damage if you have interupts.

Frustration is NOT an elite

I thought that 50% was twice and 100% was 3 times?

Ok people...get it right.

A spell that has a casting time of 5 seconds.

50% slower cast. 5x.50=2.5+5=7.5
100% longer cast 5x1.0=5+5=10.0

See the difference?

When it says you 'cast spells 50% slower', I think that refers to your casting SPEED (ie. spells per second), and 'takes 100% longer to cast spells' refers to the time it takes to cast spells (in seconds). For your 5 second spell:
50% slower cast speed - 0.2*0.5 = 0.1 spells per second (1 spell in 10 seconds)
100% longer cast time - 5*2 = 10 seconds

They're equivalent.

About the damage output:

Frustration: 41 damage per interrupt
Migraine: -3 degen for 17s = 102 damage

So, if we neglect spike damage vs. degen, you have to interrupt 3 times so that Frustration outperforms Migraine.

50% slower is the same as 100% longer. Use Mind Freeze for example - which uses the same language pattern, and ask yourself why you're moving at 1/10th of your speed, rather than just under half your normal speed.

I think the intention was to have Frustration to cause 50% longer to cast spells, otherwise this clearly outfavours Arcane Conundrum, so I think that this skill actually does cause 50% longer to cast spells, but the skill description is flawed.

Frustration > Migraine

!!

With the upcoming Nightfall, there are many ways to interrupt that doesn't involve Domination skills.
