What's the easiest and fastest way to form a real person party.

New to GW and am playing Factions, but I have a hard time finding folks to join a party to go on quests or missions. Even when folks say sure, finding just one of them in a crowded city is not easy let a lone many of them.

Is there an easier way of forming a party than asking like NFG or some abreviations like that and the name of the quest or mission, eg. last stand.

I can talk to folks anywhere in the city, but I find it difficult to fine them. It sure would be nice to be able to click on there name in the chat and move to them. Any tricks here.

Also, there's no easy way to compare your pending quests with your teammates' pending quests short of just chatting about it, so it can be especially difficult to find a willing group to go questing out in the wilderness, versus taking on the cooperative missions that start out in town.

"LFG <mission> or <quest name> Invite self"

You can also type a player's name in to the party bar to invite.

So if I understand you correctly, I will need to chat to all
LFG (looking for group?) <quest> invite self

And how do folks invite self? Do they need to find me? I was hoping there was an easier way and shortcuts, like ctrl key things.

The fastest way would probably be to find an extremely large and active guild.

As Oscarmac said, just type their name in the gray area on your party bar, and click the + sign or hit enter.

The fastest way to make a group of people you don't know, (aka a pug) is to know the mission and bonus/ quest you want to beat. Type in all chat, "ele, (or whatever you are) starting a group, knows mission and bonus invite self."

Try the mission a few times with henchies to familarize yourself with it., or research the mission/quest in this forum or in guildwiki.

PUGs are fastest, but not the best.

Guilds are the best, but not the fastest.

Just spam you're professions and the mission/quest that you want to do. i.e.: W/Mo12 LFG for (Insert quest name here). When someone says they want to go, just type in their name in the party window & click the "+" button to the left of their name.

There's also the /invite command just type that and the players name in your chat area.
Example:
/invite John Henry Jimgle Himer Schmidt
then press enter.

Also, you haven't stated what profession you are. There is one that most people do not want to PuG with (assasin anyone)

Just spam the following stuff : "LFP [name quest/mission]"
If you are looking for someone in a town/outpost then type his name in the box with a "+" sign and then press on the "+" sign. This will invite him in your party.
*edit tell them what proffesion you are playing.

Try holding the alt key and looking around. Then try the ctrl key. Different things will be highlighted, making it easier to pick them out. They also work out in the wilds, either showing monsters or items, signs, chests, etc.

You can self-invite too. If you see a number over someone's head (not class, but 3, 4, 6, 7, etc.), that means that they're the leader of a party. Click on them and click invite. Just don't take it personal if they reject you. It may just be that they don't need your class.

Also If you are trying to form a group by yourself stand in a spot that can be easily found (Storage/merchant/certain trader) and don’t run around. If people are looking for you it is hard to click on you in a busy town if you are moving. Chat All: A/E level 20 Starting pick up group (what quest/mission) by storage self invite. If you have 4 in the group change you message and include how many you have 4/8.

Best way that's worked for me for a year: Click that person's name in that's in the all chat, Ctrl+C his name (copy), and Ctrl+V into the add box in your party window (paste), and click the gray add button.

Great suggestions. This helps, I did not know the number above the head thing too, so that will help if folks are amenable to others joining. I use copy and paste short cuts all the time, so ctl-c/v will be be needed as some names are complicated and precise syntax is required.

One other thing. A number of quests I have been able to hook up with folks have like disconnected after one or two attempts were unsuccessful without a word. Is this normal eticotte or likely a glitch, switching domains, or just typical for PUGs.

There will always be leavers, and there's nothing you can do about it. People leave for various reasons, some actually get disconnected, but if someone leaves in the middle of a fight when things aren't going good or if you all get killed it's most likely someone who quit.

if i haven't got guildies 95% of the time i just grab henchies. and if i fail i will usually go again with henchies. if i still fail i go do something else until guild members are on.

There is no reason whatsoever for someone to be able to physically find someone in an outpost for them to join the party. Advice to stand still, stand by storage or somewhere else that is easy to find is useless, except for when trading items.

To join a party or invite someone to your party, simply type or copy & paste their name in your party window and click the '+' button. That will work for anyone in the district.

As far as the easiest profession: monk.

Definitely use copy/paste. Saves time over trying to type character names correctly.
