*****Warning - Long Anecdotal Story Follows*****
A couple of nights ago, I helped my brother-in-law for the Ring of Fire. We joined a random PuG (first mistake, lol!) that consisted of 2 WaMos, R/Me, N/Mo and a Mo/E. My BIL was on a Warrior and I was on a Monk. Normaly I boon prot, but for some reason I decided to go healing for this mission. We start the mission, after adding Cynn under the party leader's mistaken belief that we were in need of a nuker in order to finish the party. We begin. Immediately after loading, the N/Mo decides he has to go right now and leaves. (I can only assume mom/wife aggro.) The group decides to continue. Fine. We set about killing Mursaat and Jades. Unfortunately, it seems some of us have serious issues staying alive even with 2 monks. Concerned, I ask the usual "are you infused?" just to make sure. Some people buy new armor and forget to infuse it. Everyone's infused. So, the group continues but now I am more closely watching my partner monk. It doesn't take long to discover the source of our problems. Ether prodigy and Phoenix. On a monk/ele. I groan inside. This is going to be a very long (and most likely failed) mission. After much trying to get the other monk to also quit using Rebirth while we're still in the middle of fighting, I lose it. I tell them all the next one to rebirth anything before the fight is finished gets no healing from me. I also tell them to leave Cynn's sorry ass perma-dead, seeing as she is 60ed and instantly dies again anyway. In response to this, the other monk, whose only healing skills seemed to be heal party and healing breeze anyway, ragequits the group. Breathing a sigh of relief, I lay down the law for the now very small group of 3 Wa/Mos, 1 R/Me and me. Anyone caught ressing Cynn gets no healing. Anyone who fights alone, dies alone. Anyone who thinks it is a good thing to aggro the whole map and bring them to me, now the only source of healing, will find himself on my personal "Do Not Heal" list. One of the WaMos wants to quit and start over. I assure him that we will indeed get through this if he is smart and listens to my instructions. Proceeding onward, we finish the mission only with another death or two on the most deeply (60ed) dp'ed person. As we're killing the last boss, I send my BIL a whisper that he owes me a soda for the headache.

I have used both of my elementalists to heal through several missions when no healers were available. I trust my healing skill as an ele/monk far more than I trust Alesia or Danika. To those who insist on only a monk primary for their healing, I say think outside the box. The monk primary will heal for more hp per energy spent than a monk secondary, but if the player running it is as dumb as a box of rocks, you're better off with that ele or necro handling the healing.
