It would be a good idea to implement quests in Tyria and Cantha to bring heroes from those areas into being.
In this way, you could have heroes from various continents, and various professions. Since it is possible for characters from previous campaigns to use the Heroes gained in Elona, it should also be possible to get heroes from previous continents.
I would not suggest the "Heroes" from each campaign, such as Devona and her crew or Nika and Argo, etc from Cantha. However it isnt unbelievable to do that.
Infact, you could simply code it so that if you have Argo as a Hero, you cant have him as a Henchman.

Once nightfall is released, they will update the interface throughout all of GWs. Meaning the Hero section will exist no matter what continent your on. So there is no reason Heroes couldnt exist on other continents.
But...
...I doubt they will put Heroes into Tyria or Cantha.
Nightfall containing Heroes, is its unique feature.
Just as Factions has Kurzacks and Luxzons and alliance battles.
And Tyria has SF (best one I could think of).
Its the unique selling point of each game.
Lets say you added Heroes and alliances to Tyria. It would rule out the insentive to buy Factions and Nightfall. Neither of them would have a unique feature to incourage you to invest in them.
Plus it would be a big project to implement Heroes into Tyria and/or factions. Missions and Quests would need to be re-vamped to take advantage of it. Existing henches would need to be re-modelled to handle different weapons and armors. New animations and cut-scenes would probably be needed to introduce the heroe. A new training system to learn how to use them would be needed.
It would be a cool idea. But I think it best left to Elonia, so it stays like a unique feature.
[edit]
It would how ever be nice if you could go to Elona. Get Heroes, return to Tryia or Factions and still use them in instance or missions in a similar fashion to henches.
But as said, I doubt they will make Tyrian or Cantha Heroes and introduce them into the storyline. Unless they are cross-over characters who apear in all storys.

Has it been confirmed that we can use our Elonian Heroes in Tyria and Cantha?
If we can, they may have to rebalance some missions and quests. Like Last Day Dawns. You with your 3 heroes. Seems like they may have to change some things, or prevent you from using Heroes.

Heros from Phophecies:
Devona
Cynn
Mhenlo
Eve
Aiden
From Factions (tough call because NPCs you can choose are always changing but some good ones for starters would be)
Danika
Talon
Nika
You know many of the henchies from factions could be used, especially since there are two sides, you'd need heroes from both and some common ones.

If an Elonian character will be able to take his/her heroes along when adventuring in Tyria or Cantha, they are going to have a massive advantage over the locals unless they too can have their own heroes, so yes, heroes for all, I say!

If you consider that when you travel to another continent with a character, chances are your lvl20 already.
So while adventuring in other continents, chances are you'l be playing with other lvl20 players who have max gear or max armor anyhow.
So playing along side a bunch of lvl20 maxed out Heroes would be no different to playing alongside lvl20 human players.
Plus even, if you play the low-level areas in other continents, then you might play that with other lvl20 human players anyway.
Your no more advantaged then any team which has all lvl20s in it.
It promotes the ability to actually play solo if you choose.

Heroes do promote playing without other player companions, for sure - I know over the preview weekend I only teamed up once, in an attempt to do the first mission at more than the one-sword level! Almost everyone in every outpost had a "4" over their head.
Having Koss & Co along would make one's trip from Lion's Arch to Ascalon rather smooth, certainly.

I agree, having heroes available in the first two chapters would be good, but make the hero system only available to nightfall owners. As was said, this is the unique feature of NF, and shouldn't just be handed out to the other two chapters. Just like you have to have Factions to have material storage.
I would say for GW:P the list should be all the pre-ascended henchies, the ones you can travel with from the time they are level 3.
For GW:F, I would say give us the other students. Not the headmasters or the dedicated Kurzicks or Luxons. As good as they are, they are dedicated to their war and probably won't take off. Plus in Danika's case I doubt her family would even allow it, and as the Luxon example, the Seaguards and Champions would never leave their clans weakened.

Its already known they will be able to go to previous campaigns. Gaile confirmed it.
