Pre order back ordered? WTF?

Excuse me if this has already been posted but, I ordered my Nightfall CE with preorder at gamestop.com on 9/17/06. I assumed by ordering it then it would reserve my copy of the prerelease, but with gamestop's amazing service i guess not.



just a heads up for the rest of the loyal guild wars fans that are getting stiffed on there order XD. (will update "if" i get a reply from gamestop's support) and yes i know i have bad grammer.

Same thing for people who got in on Outpost's $39.99 with pre-order. My friend got his, I'm not so lucky. Shows "backordered" as well.

Slightly off-topic: What does the Starter Kit contain?

I guess it's the prerelease bonus pack...

I did my order at the Gamestop store they even screwed up my order. What all I have gathered Gamestop didn’t anticipate the high demand for the bonus pack.


Basically custom skin weapons for the two new classes and an extra character slot.

i didn't pre-order mine, i have though about doing it. But i already bought the prerelease, so now i just gotta wait for the CE on the 26th.

So it seams sometimes pre-ordering is good and not good. I think i will keep with the way that i'm doing it.

A store in Belgium was selling them for 0.01€, no Pe-order required. Just the CD case and codes for that price. So I bought a few for me and some guildies. Seem to be out of stock now.
Think a post from Alex Weekes said they didn't expect it to be sold so successfull, so it's possible they're completely out of stock...

Dont worry dude- they will probably ship it together- youd think theyd have to to save themselves on shipping? I dunno- I ordered my CE from Gamestop too so I hope everything works out.

scared me as well... I have 2 CE-copies coming from those guys! I already picked up 2 starter kits, so I hope ebgames/gamestop have the presence of mind to ship my CE editions without the back-ordered $5-disk holding up the entire purchase.

The gamestop and ebgame in my town has plenty of Pre-Order boxes. I guess online ran out quickly?

Don't sweat it. That's exactly what my order page looks like. The free poster they're going to ship me is listed as "backordered" too.

When I placed my order, I was informed that the prelease bonus pack would ship at the same time the real game shipped. It seems that their system is set to list the game itself as "shipping 10/26" and the rest of the package deal as "backordered". I wouldn't worry much about it.

BTW, you did see that part that said the bonus pack would ship at the same time the game itself ships... right? It's in red, and it says: The Starter Kit when ordered with this bundle will ship when the game ships on 10/26/06.

The Bonus pack is backordered through their whole system (Even if you order it seperately from Nightfall).

this really isnt unexpected, at least not by me since if you try to get the bonus packs this late they tend to be out (happened to my friend when he preordered factions)

My order page is the same, yet the starter pack or whatever you choose to call it only changed to backordered recently. I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Gamestop sells every copy they have stores asap. If you preordered they do not reserve you a copy. I preordered for factions then went in to get my pre order and the guy was "We might not have any left". I tell him I preordered before your store even knew what it was...i.e. the first day A.net announced it. How can I be near the first person if not the first person to preorder here and not have a preorder box. He tells me "oh preordering doesn't reserve you a preorder kit." So yea...

Another offtopic post, but If I have two bonus packs would I be able to add them both to single account or would it be denied?
