Controlling monk heroes?

I didn't have much time to play during the event, so I didn't get to try a monk hero. Is it possible to target their healing? Like make him cast an orison on your character, or any other specific party member?

I'm guessing you'd just have to target the ally you want him to cast on.

Aye, it is. You can pretty much control your Heros entirely when Nightfall is released.

yea click on the ally to heal and make him heal. or click the skill you want him to use w/out targetting an ally and he'll use it as he sees fit, most likely on the person witht the least health.

Heres one thing though-

say you bring mending on your Monk Hero... They will cast it on every party member as soon as you step into the instance.

A monk hero will not be able to run some of the more popular builds (i highly doubt a boon prot or bonder monk will work even if you try telling it what to do) But im sure there will be some very powerful hero builds that likewise will not work for a Human Player.

Just like a Human can run a Bonder better than a computer, A Computer can run an Interupter better than a Human.

You may want to set your monks up for simple easy to run builds.

(1)You open their window, so you can see their skillbar and activate their spells with your mouse.
(2) you select yourself (or any team member)
(3) you click on a spell on any Heroes skillbar and he will cast it on you (no offensive spells obviously)

as far as skilling Healer Heroes is considered

only equip them with spells costing 5e. (they like to spam spells) [Light of deliverance, Glimmer of light, woh]
do not give them +5 energy swords (they will go into meelee)
no complicated energy management shemes please (MoR and others which can be quickly and manually dealt with are fine) [Healers Covenant sounds good]
signet of devotion is a good idea.

Boon Prot: Forget it.
Hex Remove: only with inspiration
Ether Signet: works fine (check his nrg, click it, done)

I'm just going to set-it-and-forget-it when it comes to my monk heroes, I can't monk anyway, I wont have much luck controlling another monk.

Although, Interrupters sound hot, and you know how crazy good NPC interrupters are^^.

Actually, somebody tested a bonder hero during the preview event. Apparently, they will only cast bonds when they have + energy regen even if you have the bond checked, so a bonder monk hero can only bond half the party. Even so, it still runs it okay as long as you set his aggressive mode to passive.

Bonders are pretty limited, but Boon Prots worked brilliantly in testing over the weekend event. I'm already planning to level two of 'em for each of my characters...

Yes, Boon Prot worked quite well, but I found it was better with MoR instead of eDrain. Then you can put them on Passive mode and they can still manage their energy.

no hero goes into melee if you give them the "Passive" setting

yea, very important for missions where you are not supposed to kill things!

I loved that Crypt mission (forgot what its called already) in the nightfall Preview Event.

I'm looking forward to alot more puzzles and challenges which will make whole use of the Heros
