just out of curiosity.. i noticed that whenever doing a raisu chest run.. when 1 chest is purple the all seem to be purple.. and when 1 is gold they all seem to be gold.. stating this based upon getting to 3 chests per run. is it a fact that if 1 is gold then they all are gold in raisu palace?
thnx
kinda new to chest running

perfect
It does appear to happen that way sometimes but that is not always the case; sometimes there is a mix of gold/purple chests in an instance.
You can always just run a little slower than the other guys and let them test out the chests before you waste a key on it, especially if you see the first one is a purple.

It is best to try to take turns opening the chest to spread out the risk factor, but sometimes there is someone in a hurry or likes to jump ahead. I dont mind going first because my drops seem a little better (better mods and less offhands) than if I go forth or fifth. Its probably random though.

I believe that the chance of a chest being gold is dependant on how much they key costs from the trader eg higher chance of chest being gold in fow/uw than shiverpeaks etc.

To answer your end question there, no.

you open one, its purple, go to the next and its purple as well. (which is not true, just as example of what he is asking for)
i used to run a lot in melandrus, and often experienced the same behaviour in a special area there. me and a friend did it, one opened a chest, saw if it was purp or gold and thne opened the others or rezoned depending on what it was. it actually worked for a while, then it went completely random. heh
never experienced it again :P
