Shadow Form...

Ok, can someboby please explain this skill to me, from the in-game description it would seem nothing should be able to hit me with anything. When the enemy casts it, it seems no matter what anybody in my team does, it won't go away, nor can we injur them.

Now, why is it, that when I use this skill, I not only get hit constantly, it gets removed after a few seconds. Before you ask, yes it is on and didn't just get inturrupted.

Can somebody give me a general idea of the skills that do effect you while in Shadow Form? Also the ones that can remove it, that'd be real nice to know.

The only skills that can remove Shadow Form is

Signet enchant strippers
Expunge Enchantments
AoE Enchant strippers (chillblains, well of the profane etc)

If you're playing factions the mesmer enemies likely have Sig of Disenchantment and are stripping it.


Note that any AoE damage is still going to hit you, i.e., dragon's stomp targeted at someone else will still hurt if you're nearby.

Theres alot of AoE used by Faction Monsters in some areas, which still hits you.

For it getting removed, its duration is short, so you might just not be noticing it..No monster I know use Sig of Disenchantment.

If your in the Jade Sea though, the assassin fish there use Expunge Enchantments.

Signet of Disenchantment is the only Signet that removes enchantments.

AoE damage will hit you because it's target against one, and effects all untargeted in the area. Also, Skills such as Vamp Bite or Palm Strike... even Shock will still hit you.

IW passes through Shadow Form.


And maybe touch skills<---Not sure.

You can touch through Backfire, touch when blind, touch someone with Spellbreaker, and yes, touch someone with Shadow Form. But you can't touch someone unless you are close enough.

if you play faction alot, u know afflicted necro has order of apostasy........
