observer mode

Can we get an opton to NOT have our matches on observer mode? It's annoying making a build up and having a bunch of nubs copy it =/ I know alot of top teams have been wondering about this for a while.

I mean it's gratifying and all to have iQ copy us, and having half the guilds using it, but its kinda annoying too Though seeing mods like Earthquake and PD is funny too.

Anyway A.net will ever think of this option?

Whats the point of observer mode then if we CANT see top guilds?

So DeeR is now the greatest and you are offended "nub" guilds copy your builds?

This is why PvP people get called elite assholes..unless you Copyright the build then you have no claim over it...now climb down off your little horse and get back to being owned by your own build

When did I say this? Where do I say this? Point it out to me? I said it's annoying.

We got "owned" because they brought a skill designed to beat us, knowing they would run into us, and so we lost. Big deal. They made a change.

Some guilds probably won't care if you can observe them, I just know a number do care.

I agree with Lews to an extent... Our guild spent a good time on the observer over and over the other night and we ran into quite a few guilds that seemed to recognize us from our lengthy night of near misses with halls... And while thats all fun and everything it also lends to a lot more smack talk to -_- Our build was semi original and though nowhere near perfect, it was decent for farming a goodly portion of fame, and after it was seen all over observer its gaining momentum...
Only thing I have to say about it, is good thing we haven't worked out all the kinks!

Plus I am tired of the guild leader coming at us with gvg ideas that he stole from another top guild >_< I LIKE ORIGINAL RECIPE!

Might as well stop everyone from seeing what skill is being cast during normal gameplay too since that also would reveal builds against everyone's will. Albeit slightly more slowly that way. To nerf observer mode but not nerf normal gameplay too would be unequitable. Of course then there is the can of worms being opened that you can't do things properly if you can't see the enemy skills as they are being cast.

Hence better to leave things as they are in my view.

It's not nerfing it. It's getting people the option of wanting their matches displayed or not. Observer Mode still exists.

I support this idea!!!

Observer mode is killing this game.
I think it should be disabled for evryday gvg/ha. It should be for tournaments/special events only.

I also agree there should be option that we dont agree to make our game public (unless its tournament/event).

as far as i know, anet is thinking in include un-ranked random matches, if those mathes are unranked i think they won't be aviable in the observer mode, so considering is a possible update facing the tournament system, it will be the solution you may need.

How did sports teams from basketball, soccer and football create upsets against their rivals? By watching past games. It is nothing new.

i really enjoy the observers mode. i watch it more than i do television. for the record, im not a hardcore pvp player. but i don't want observers mode changed either. the way it is now is perfect.

so the complaint here is that some people/guilds do not want people to see what build they are running. lets say guild A rolls guild B, C, and D but gets rolled themselfs by guild B the next time. guild A ran the same build as always, but guild B changed their build after the first encounter with guild A, resulting in a victory for guild B. this has not changed since guild wars started. most guilds do not run the same build over and over again as a means to keep people, including themself, honest. observers mode just keep people honest faster by viewing.

No offence lews, but this is the crazyest thing I've read for a while... It's a good idea about not showing your games, but surely both teams would have to agree for it not to be shown, and how likely is that going to be?
