Post-Launch party for GWN - Europe

Hey all,

I just wanted to let you know that we are currently investigating holding some sort of post-launch party following Nightfall's launch later this month. Details, should we go ahead, will be forthcoming ASAP. However, for now I just wanted to ask the following question:

If we held a party in Brighton (East Sussex, UK) for European players to attend, would you be interested in attending? You will be paying your own way to come along, so please take that into account when responding.

Please remember that this is for European players so we can guage potential attendence numbers.

uh...I would...but I have classes and can't pay for the ride...

Oh yea...this is the wrong place to post things like this. The result of the poll will be inaccurate, as the majority people on this forum are from US and people here are very unlikely to buy a plane ticket just for some party.

lightblade, we have a good many members who are from Europe here In fact, 1/2 the GWG staff is from outside the US.

It's very much the right place, actually . There are plenty of EU players (especially UK players who are most likely to be able to attend) who post on the English language fansites. More than you would expect, I think. Just take a look at the new guild ladder, where more than 60% of guilds are representing the EU. A large proportion of those players either speak English only or choose to visit English-speaking fansites. Not to mention, we've got duplicate polls running on the German fansites and will also duplicate on the French shortly .

We're interested in knowing who wants to come and would be able to under the conditions I outlined. I could have simply made it a single-option poll really, though having the no votes is still interesting for us .

What sort of stuff would be going on Alex? I voted Yes simply as Brighton is only about 2 hours of traveling for me.

Perhaps if you picked a location not stuck on the bottom of the country you may get more definates, i live just north of london and it would take me 2 hours to get there, so pitty the people that live in the north (i don understand that NCsoft offices are in Brighton however so thats probably why)

But yeah, depending on what sorta stuff would be going on I may attend.

Also I can imagine some disgruntled people voting No simply as this is not part of their region, but oh well.

yea id be interested if you could provide some more details of what kind of things you have planned.. only parties i usually go to end up with me being very drunk but i imagine this will be slightly different

well I visit this forum, I'm European and I don't live in the UK... so do as you please, there's no way I can get there from southern Europe with an acceptable cost ^^

If it was in London (+Greater London) (where there are more ways to get into) more people will come.

As you need to take out a mortgage to buy a train ticket in the UK, and I live north of Birmingham, I would not go.
