Okay, so this is my first build post, so go easy on me =)
It's been used for Alliance Battle purposes only so far.
I suck at explaining stuff, first of all =(
But I know this works the way I do it
Broad Head Arrow [E]
Pin Down
Hunter's Shot
Distracting Shot
Apply Poison
Stormchaser
Serpents Quickness
Troll Unguent
9 (8+1) expertise
16 (12+4) wilderness
12 (10+2) marksmanship
I use longbow/hornbow, both with 33% poison +30hp. Though im guessing a bow with shorter arrow fly time would be better for close combat.

I really don't know why this build works so great. I rarley even die!
You Always, Always, Always want to start with apply poison, and Then u go with the BHA (if it's a spellcaster, otherwise it's a waste of energy). Thats where stormchaser come into the picture! Since it's a slow moving arrow and is not affected by spirits, you want get close to you opponents, and strike them, then run out of their earshot at least.
And then cripple, and then when they are fleeing, u shot them with hunters shot to cause even more mayhem.
It's really our instict to flee, so thats what Most people tend to do. Especially if they feel out numberd or such.
If you just keep Serpent's Quickness up you can renew it over and over with 0,3 seconnds between it's ending, and the new one taking over. It's slim, but it Does work. This giving you a +10 constant hp regen makes it rather easy to take out multiple targets, even if they are attacking you.
My AB Build.

This looks like a good build. If it were me running this, I would take a defensive stance instead of Serpent's Quickness and perhaps some sort of IAS with a shortbow to exploit any dazed enemies, but this build looks very good.

That would be my suggestion. Pick up a shortbow, and use something like flurry once the Daze sets in, and your target will be hard pressed to get a spell off.

I would love to put needling shot in there to finish someone off once they're under 50%. In that case read the wind would be a better prep, just something to consider.

Something bugs me, not with the build but with the bows used: flatbows and hornbows. Those 2 bows have the worst accuracy. Asually people use RtW and/or FW to increase the accuracy of this kind of bow. Especially in a PvP environment you'll be targetting moving opponents all the time, and you're very likely to miss. I would suggest a composite bow instead. You can still keep the hornbow for static opponents, and switch to the composite bow when you're targetting moving foes. Especially if you're using BHA, you don't want to miss.
EDIT - Oops my bad I read flatbow when you said longbow. That's less important then but I'd still recommand a composite bow instead.

Making this a pure ranger build sure opens a few doors if u want to alternate skills. Since i made this build with elementalist/other spellcasters slaying in mind, I tried to think of what the worst thing could be, happening to an ele at first.
How about: Getting poisoned/being unable to cast spells, realizing it, getting crippled. panicin', and try to run, and then start to bleed =) Then I just spam hunter's shot.
The bow issue --
Longbow: I only use this to poison people intitally and then switch to the hornbow to get some extra dmg. But we all know 10% ain't worth it, for it's The worst bow type imo, and many others opions aswell. I'm running this on a PvP char right now. And i didn't think it through. A shortbow ro recurve bow would be alot better.
Hoping to transfer the concept to my PvE char and AB with him. Hence, i'm thinking of getting a Nundak's Recurve Bow or a Rotwing Recurve Bow instead of the hornbow. I'm currently considering the Rotwing because of the +5 energy, over the 15^50 from the Nundak bow.
<edit>
Composite bow, is not a Type of bow. It's the name of a bow. It falls in the recurve class.

If you end up running an IAS, then grab a Swiftscale's Shortbow to swap to and use on dazed foes after they are poisoned.

your build rocks pretty much in AB as you said its an AB build but yea
maybe if i were you i would use a recurve bow and a shortbow like everyone has said this build is somewhat similar to my RA build when i get bored.
my RA build which is quite similar to this is
expertise 12 +3 +1 =16
marks 9 +1 =10
WS 9 +1 =10
BM 1 +1 =2
illu 3
BHA {E}
savage shot
distracting shot
apply poison
distortion
Troll ungent
Charm animal
Rez sig
Bows i use are Nundak's REcurve bow, but i want a bow with a dazed mod then switch back to nundaks i guess or switch to my shortbow
basically the pet is there to add to the chance of interrupting monks since they have a lot of 1/4 casts and the pet helps a lot in this i dont really care if it dies or not... hmm savage and distracting basically for interrupting self heals, spam skills, and rez sig. distortion when underfire
otherwise i would say your build is really nice in AB it will def kill the casters just probably youll want to run away after melee starts coming towards you.

Against some of the idiots you come up against in ABs though anythings possible. The number of times eles continue to attempt using 2-5s cast spells on you when you interrupt them everytime is quite something.

# The speed of the arrow cannot be increased with skills such as Favorable Winds and Read the Wind.
# In this instance, "slow moving" means that the arc size of the bowshot is increased dramatically, making it much easier for the intended target to dodge. "
I liked the idea of a pet. But don't u have to put alot into beast mastey in that case? Any person would imediatly go for the pet so, if the pet gets killed, then I have to get killed to get it back. Either that or carry a res for it, wich is a waste.
It worked pretty well with a Hornbow, and it works better with a shortbow so :P

they dont always kill the pet cause they notice wow only 2dmg from the pet wow no need to worry.. then they worry when they notice dazed is on them so they start attacking the pet and usually the pet lives cause no one attacks it after noticing it does 2dmg to them but yea it helps in interrupts wish i could also bring call of haste whatever though
Myrslok
Yeah thats true.
