I don't friggen get it... BOTH products are being bought. Everytime I make a new pre-searing character I see some guy obviously on his first character...
Does Anet want to completely discourage buying prophecies at all? It's not like it costs them money to include tyria in these events, they just are following some assanine buisiness policy of shunning those who don't buy their latest product. It's ridiculous and makes no sense at all.
People will ALWAYS be buying prophecies, because it's going to become a classic. You think in chapter 4+ people will still be paying for factions? Hell no. Give Prophecies what it friggen deserves.
What is the logic in stiffing tyria in every single weekend event?

Inane Business Model? Does Microsoft still do Patches for Windows 98? HECK NO, they stopped years ago, Does Windows 98 still sale? HECK YES, there are peopel that freakin LOVE windows 98 for older computers that cant handle XP.
NOONE patches their older platforms when their newer ones come out - they always promote the newest one. And in Guild Wars, Tyria is the Windows 98, and Cantha is Windows XP. When NIghtfall comes out Elona is going to be their Windows Vista..

Wrong.
They have to pay developers to come up with patches for windows '98. Simply including prophecies in applical events costs them NOTHING.
Your analogy is completely invalid.

HEY, wow... finally someone with insight on the sourcecode of Guildwars that knows the code is so advanced that developing in it doesn't even cost the money to pay the coder. Great. That means A-Net is a beneficial company, paying their employees out of pure generosity. Yay.
I don't know why they do not create those events for prophecies. Prophecies had other events and updates that Factions will never see. But hey, i can give you a reason why A-Net doesn't exactly care about those folks that whine "i won't be buying Nightfall". The reason most of these folks are whining is because they did not buy Factions and can't participate. So hey, to them you were not even a potential buyer anyways. No loss.
Besides, i'd rather have chapter specific events than a lousy handfull of global events

This thread is just ranting about stuff that has been dicussed time and time again, and really doesn't have much to do about quests, missions or items in Tyria. So I'm closing it.
