Is Nightfall really worth the money?

Hell yes, I will enjoy it thoroughly.

Yes. Heros, new professions, mucho new pve content, all worth it.

It appears that ArenaNet put a lot more into Nightfall than Factions.

If you're interested in the PVE experience, from what the preview event was like I'd venture to say it will be worth it. The PVE experience definately seems like it will be worth the purchase for people who enjoy PVE gameplay. The quests seem plentiful, the heroes are a nice touch, and then there are little things like NPC scouts that give you orders that provide a bonus in expereince and the oppurtunity to earn title points.

On the PVP side of the spectrum, it may be less worth it. Depends on what you think abotu the Paragon and Dervish. Personally, the Paragon is the class that's been waiting for. I always preferred support classes, and I like the idea of toting a ranged spear with a shield and using shouts/chats/echos.

But if neither of those classes appeal to you, you can wait for them to make the Nightfall skills availible for purchase and simply buy that.

I'd pay 50$ just for the heroes... another 20 for the HvH pvp... another 20 for the new professions, and another 20 for the pve content. Hell yeah they all come with the heroes!

I'm gunna buy it. Its more of a question is if its pocket friendly for your situation, had this been a month ago then chances are I wouldn't have bought it. But now I'm making a bit more money than then.

No offense factions was crap.

Nightfalls looks to be on the level with prophecies, no bs, BUY IT.

Even if you're not interested in PvE, it's nice to have the chapter for the elite skills, weapons, and whatnot. They won't make a game that's totally based on PvE. And, however, they do have a new PvP feature with heroes.. which I'm not too familiar with..

People have different opinions, you have to decide if it's worth your money or not.. people can't do that for you.

As for response to OP, why do you bother asking on a Guild Wars forum... you're bound to get a positive response...

Anyway, I think you should get it because there are some neat features that you will probably want to try. If you don't get it right when it comes out, at least get it a month or few down the road.

Yeah your right, factions was more pvp focused and their alliance battle system was an absolute flop. This would be why everybody was very disappointed with factions.

I dont consider it a flop when people still play there really.

$60's gonna net me 2 minipets (Varesh and Grey Giant) and some sick dances for my guys, along with some other interesting swag.

my best advise is not to buy nightfall immediately but wait a week or 2, check the threads and peoples reactions, then decide. that is what i intend to do myself after the debacle that was factions.

but then again i might just grab it immediately from the online store i really can't say ...

I wanna buy it immediatly so I can blitz the story, get to the Elite mission, and head back to Droks to spam "WTS (Insert Elonian elite green here), 100k+100e!!1"

I certainly hope it will top Factions, which already trumped Prophecies.
