Apart from the cheesy name I just came up with, this build works quite well in my experience.
Armor : Druids
Weapon : Rotwing Recurve, most recurve bows work if your good at switching. Maybe a Poisoners Short thrown in there.
Atts:
Marks: 13
WS: 10
Exp: 13
Shadow Arts: 3 (Still gives 38 seconds of SoH)
Skills:
Crippling Shot
Savage Shot
Distracting Shot
Apply Poison
Shadow of Haste
Dash
Troll Ungent
Res Sig
Yes, its a cripshot with a twist. It started from me trying to figure out how to counter a caster or any build 1 on 1 with a ranger. I ended up testing in 8 man HA and RA/TA. No gvg testing yet.
The crippleshot portion is played just like any other crippleshot build. My favorite part about it however, is the versatility. Start up a Shadow of Haste in your backline, run forward and attack. It is successful because it allows you to venture into the opponents backline with easy transport backwards. In HA is also proved effective in stopping spikes halfway by getting you out of range. Any interupter knows that it is tons easier to interupt when standing next to your target. Dash also helps with mobility options for catching up and snaring in certain situations. If using in 1 v 1, healing spring is a good alternative to Res sig. You can bounce away if you are loseing the fight and put down a Spring and a Troll and your set.
Critism always liked, make a good counter argument though. It could be my want to develop a good R/A bow based build that makes this good in my eyes. You guys be the judge. Sorry for the crappy paragraph organization.
Ranger Flash Flood Build
Craze Horse
Nivryx
interesting concept, will be sure to check this out when i get on my comp with gw later today.
Poison Ivy
Still not enough defence there, if you get spiked, the only thing you can do is shout it on Vent, unlike the original R/Me with Distortion. So I'm thinking if throwing in a Dark Escape in there instead of Shadow of Haste, of course it makes you a tiny bit less versatile, but at least it will make you 50% harder to kill

Interesting... although i'd prefer to reach the 8s breakpoint of Cripshot.
Giga Strike
interesting build but why is it called flash flood? i came here half expecting to see a revolutionary ranger that uses water magic somehow.

hmmm...now I'm contemplating a Nightfall skill combo of Burning Arrow and Steam, lol!
As for the OP, the build looks interesting, but it may be a bit challenging to control the shadow step aspect of Shadow of Haste to your advantage, but if done right, it could bring a stout advantage in mobility.

Thanks for the positive feedback.
As for the problems adressed, yes this build lacks skills that inheriently give you defence. However being able to go back to anywhere you choose running at 50% faster speed is like a defence in my eyes. The SoH and Dash speed boosts provide straving abilities to dodge arrows and magical projectiles easier.
As for the cutoff point, I used to use 14 Marks 9 WS and sometimes still do. However, the extra troll regen is nice. Its up to the person to decide what they like more.
The build's name has nothing to do with it. Just the 2 words that I pulled from the top of my head.
As you know Archon, Dash is the SoH cancel stance and gets you away quickly. SoH can be sometimes annoying because it pushes you back in unwanted situations, however with dash you can get back up there within no time.
I hope that cleared up some doubts.

As for the OP, the build looks interesting, but it may be a bit challenging to control the shadow step aspect of Shadow of Haste to your advantage, but if done right, it could bring a stout advantage in mobility. Shadow of Haste takes no skill to control really, just a bit of awareness. Using it in sensible places (meaning into your backline) is logical. And it renews without causing you to vanish back to where you first used it, so aslong as you remember where you renewed it last your perfectly safe from any possible backlash from cancelling it via Dash.
The only real problem is though you lose out on taking Hunters Shot. 1 of my favourite skills to take when playing with Cripshot/Apply, the degen is nice and extremely easy to apply on melee targets and people that have the capacity to flee rather than get interrupted.
Of course in a GvG situation the ability to run into the opponents base, kill off an Archer (you'd struggle to kill more with 34s duration on SoH) and then vanish is quite powerful, but Dash really does consume a skill slot. SoH can work just fine as a constant 15% running skill, it still gives you a very big advantage over anyone trying to chase you down but would just limit your ability to overextend safely to how well you've timed it. Would be easy to figure out if you use a lvl1 Shadow Arts SoH.
