Awww.....that was sweet........so I won't kick your ass for saying I hit like a girl. lmao j/k too.

Good point tho, you have to wade through a lot of jerks to find a few good people. I've been lucky I guess, I've found more good then bad, including the one, who I quoted, who quoted me.

If I buy Factions will I get all the skills and abilities from Prophecies? And how does your "Arena Fights" or "Battlegrounds" work? Can a person in One continent fight against someone on the other one?

There are "Core" skills that you can get in any chapter, and there are other skills that are chapter specific.

As for Battle grounds, There are the Battle Islands that are accessible from every chapter, which is where guild battles, Hero's Ascent battles, plus team and random arenas. There are also chapter specific PvP areas located on that chapter's mainland - such as the Alliance Battles in Factions. They aren't limited to Factions born characters, tho. The only limitations to chapter specific arenas is the level requirement - ABs must be level 20, Ascalon arena is for levels 10 and under, etc.

Just to clarify: You need Factions to participate in ABs (beware the trash talk), but once it's on your account, all of your L20 characters may participate, regardless of origin. Basically, expect to see Paragons and Dervish there when Nightfall goes live.
Additionally, your guild's leader needs to align the guild to a particular faction (Luxon or Kurzick) before the NPCs allowing ABs show up in your hall.
