My Guild, friends and myself have been trying various all X builds for a while, we've cleared fow/UW, every mission we can think of, and even completed Urgoz with 11 mesmers, Now it was time to try and see how well Lyssa's other profession did in the Fissure Of Woe

The party was

It was very much a makeshift build with people being limited by what skills they had, and us not unknowing what to expect. Overall the build was ok, but had lots of room for improvement. It was strong against melee, but any kind of shadow elemental was bad news. Another A/mo, A/N and an A/r's would certainly improve it.

I'll leave it to the others to outline their builds, but the run was done using no 'trick builds' such as spirit bonders, invinci shadow formers or 55's. We also tried to maximise use of the assasin skillset wherever possible

Special mention must go to one of my officers, Quick who solo Assasin/Monked the entire trip.
Amazing work.

Lining up ready to go

After a lot of getting used to the build, we got Rastigan back to his house

This is a typical battle, assasin gank!

Spiders and Beach were dispatched with Ruthless efficiency.

Err 7 claimed it's first Victim after freeing the forgemaster

Then another During defending the temple

It was getting late so a few people left after Restoring the Forge

Final group shot of the survivors

Huge thanks to those brave souls who sought to prove that assasins are not as useless or easy to kill as people think. You all did superb and it was a really fun run

Ive run an All Assassin team before, all A/Me , yes you guessed it all Shadow Form Sins, theres no Chillbains or anything of the such, so you can clear the whole forge in a silly amount of time (no need to stop to regen, no need to dedicate characters to heal/prot/mitigate) no group lasts more than 20 seconds, using the 3-2-1 Spike Teamspeak

Only tricky part is the trappers, but its hardly difficult to lure them off the traps

yeah this was one fun run although i was teh 1st victim to a drop

from my perspective, blind powder>deathblossom was awesome vs the groups of melee, which were dispached almost effortlesly especially on the beach and the combo of "shadow of haste" and "dash" was a lifesaver, but as shan said the main weakness was SS and incerdiary bonds. i think a temple strike>epidemic sin would have fared better.

and the shodowform>silverarmour tanks were a LOT of fun to have along

my build was also a bit of a "thrown-together" kind of deal as i was usingmy friends sin on loan and didnt have a lot of the stuff i would have prefered to have taken, i was running "Hi Karate" but thats of no consiquence really.

I second the praise for quicky~ who was "monking" she was on top form

I got 1 shard but that was it. My build was extremely dodgy... in terms of damage it could do a fair amount (somehow soloed a Shadow Monk because it didn't bother healing itself till the end). It was missing the condition part though so i may have to adjust it, very energy heavy. I wasn't actually using my /Mo (even for res, i forgot i had no hex for BLS so had to stick Siphon speed in^^).

Couldn't go wrong with a Temple Strike/Epidemic 'sin yeah... That or an A/R barrager w/ interrupts just to stop the damn SS. We did lack knockdown too, Horns probably wouldn't have been a good choice so it might've been down to Shock, but then your just limiting yourself in terms of combos.

Shadow Form was more of an amusement. In terms of the team build it was completely useless for a fair few things. The 25 seconds gained in tanking ability from the A/Es wasn't all that useful since by the time the agro had taken completely it was time to retreat so you didn't die. Only things like Abyssal which really needed an unhittable tank were really worth using it against for the length. With just a single A/Me primarily echoing Shadow Form been the tank you could hold agro for quite a while.

What we really needed was knockdown/conditions. Assassins have no method of inflicting weakness and a poor method of inflicting blindness. During focus attacks we could kill things pretty quickly, otherwise it was quite difficult since some enemies have extremely good healing and some extremely high damage. We had to retreat several times because we had to completely stop thanks to SS/Empathy, which do ALOT of damage when you double strike so its just not worth attacking. Not to mention the Shadow Elementalists have some insane spike damage when 2 Incendiary Bonds or Fireballs hit at the same time.

Mark of instbility-black lotus strike-twisting fangs-falling spider-critical strike-virulence, deadly combo, i use it in AB from time to time.

And omg if your guild actually has 8 sins i wanna be in lol, my guild members say sins are worthless. So i beat them up a couple times and pwn on everythin but they stubborn
