Found two blues in the first 15 min. of playing?

I found them in a stash inside a scorpion cave.

Is that really good luck or are blues really not that rare?

purple/yellow are the real rares, yellow being the most prized

Got 2 yellow dyes in a single mission.
The rare dyes are silver and black (although I have the feeling the black are becoming less and less rare).

I was grouping with my friend, and he found 2 black dyes within 20 minutes...T_T

Found 6 purples in an hour, however, they all sucked T_T (none of the armor have runes...)

So far, I have never seen a purple armor with a rune in it, but every single blue armor I've gotten a rune off of (some nice ones too XD, 2 minor swordsmanships in 2 hours).

Do purple armors not have runes or something?

Okay, so this is two different conversations going on in this thread. As far as colored name items blue are not too hard to find, I tend to find at least 5 or 6 of them in presear even if all I do is the skill missions. (I like to play around with different profs when I get bored) purple and yellow named items I personally didn't start finding till Borlis Pass but *shrug*

As for dyes, personally I rarely find dye at all, but the rare dyes are black and silver, black the most sought after. Last time I looked at a dye trader Black dye was selling for something like 1450 gold give or take. and silver around 800. Yellow dye sucks.

I never found a silver dye with my first character. Started a second today and found 2 silver dyes in pre-searing. I was shocked.

I found a black dye off of the tomb nightmare that you have to fight in the first necromancer skill quest in pre-searing :P
