when u kill a monster with a group the item that drops is reserved randomly for any person in the group. Note that henchies will also get items so thats why when u go out with henchies the drop rate for you decreases.

Key word there is farm. I think you might be suffering from over-farm. This just means that your drops are decreased and that the game doesn't like you constantly farming the same thing. Just do some missions (not the same one repeatedly, because the game sees that as farming no matter if you kill anything or not), kill some other monsters, basically just play normally. Or, you could just be unlucky, in which case I don't know how to fix your problem.

You're never going to get much of anything if you farm only once every 2 days and while you're in a group. If you want money, items, etc. you're going to have to solo farm and farm more than just a few times.

I'd recommend eating Lucky Charms every meal every day for a week to see if it helps with your random drops!

you know in my opinion i think the game watches you too much...stupid farming bots had to give Anet a reason to do this ><

I've had times like that, when most everyone in the party gets a nice drop or 2 and I end up with a bunch of junk. Other times it seems like I'm the only one getting the good loot.

Drops are random, but sometimes it's the players perspective that makes them not make sense. For example, I've been playing the game since release, I've managed to get only 7 or 8 black dyes, so it amazes me when I hear people taking about finding tons of them.

Yeah I did a trapping run in UW with 3 others and pretty much got squat from it. I'm not a farmer and that was my first trip to UW so no anti-farming code was in effect, just bad luck with the random drops.
