For Crafters - Pick skin, mod, inherents, etc for each piece of armor and weapon
MAKE A RARE ARMOR CRAFTER AND WEAPONSMITH
(like the material and rare material trader)
(there is a weaponsmith that is USELESS - 10g for customizing?!?!?!?! - make him useful)
RARE ARMOR CRAFTER
For example.....HELM the normal fee and materials for the helm BUT you have a choice to really customize your armor.... you start with the 5 different skins like in prophecies - but a specific skin does not ALWAYS have the same inherent effects = BORING
****THESE ARE JUST EXAMPLES****
- Helm - you may choose one from each section
Skins
- add 'storm' effect = 20 spiritwood planks
- add 'scratched/dented' effect = 5 monstrous claws
- add 'glowing eye' effect = 1 ruby
Inherents
- Ascalon [+5 health] = 2 sapphires
- Fire Resistance [20 armor vs fire] = 6 deldrimore steel ingots
- Mages [+1 energy] = 1 ecto
Mods
- +1 strength = 10 steel ingots
- +1 tactics = 5 monstrous claws
etc......
RARE Weapon Crafter - these are customized and not usable by others (and expensive - goes up as damage goes up, like crafters now)

appearance - choose any/all of the following (or whatever)
- add green flame = 1 emerald
- add transparency = 20 spiritwood
- add spike handle = 4 steel ingots
- add metalic appearance = 50 iron ingots
- add eye sight to bow = 1 monstrous eye
mods - choose ONE of the following
- add 10%^50 = 3k
- add 11%^50 = 6k
etc...
- add 10% stance = 1k
- add 11% stance = 2k
etc...
- add 15% hexed = 250g
etc...

both weapon and armor crafters have a flat fee like before. these are ways to use the different materials now that we have material storage (well at least factions characters - which is really cheap BTW) and ENHANCE the crafters which not many people use.
everyone loves a 'rare' skinned weapon. just simple ways to make the crafters more appealing

Have the collectors offer the 'upgrades'/'mods'
ex - John Collector
in exchange for 3 mantis pincers
- spike handle for bow
- transparent effect for sword
- green flame for axe
etc....

Quite a cool idea actually, I was skeptical at first to be honest. I'd love to see my warrior wielding a transparent effect fiery dragon sword . This idea has a lot of potential methinks.

agree that crafters could be improve, and more mods type should be added.
Could even put the master crafter in harder to find places, or have quest associate with them. (also need to make the available to PvPers too)

Number 2 - I have NO IDEA what pricing would be/if any. it was just an example to make the crafters MORE CUSTOMIZED!
just for kicks... why shouldn't 15%^50 be an extra 15k - REMEMBER - you can still get the 'basic' skin and perfect item (for the basic price at the weapon crafter - this is for the RARE Weapon Crafter). BUT if you want a truly UNIQUE, CUSTOM ITEM - you have to pay for it.

although i think they should be MUCH more expensive...so you can distinguish between someone who has the health and someone who salvaged something and got lucky enough to get materials to do this

mmm I like the idea of using rare materials to add extra visual bling to weapons. The stat-effects should remain as is, tho; the weapon-part upgrade system already covers this area well enough, imo.

Pretty interesting idea to craft weapons so that not everyone has the same old green weapon. It gets tiring after a while.

Well, now that I think of it, it might not help customization for some people. you know, the wammos with full black obsidian armor. They'll just take the most expensive customization (ie. costs one ecto to give the weapon a certain ghoulish glow) and use that, and they'll still all look the same :P
