I don’t really agree with the idea of ‘build originality’ either:
Using forums to post builds is a nice way of sharing an idea, it can be very helpful.

However shared; by forum, grouping, or both - it’s easy to watch and see what works and what doesn’t. A skill borrowed here a combo there, glue it together and break it apart again, swap this for that etc. Borrowing works both ways.

It’s a continual process. If you mix with others, you’re contributing to that, and taking from it. With just 8 skills to bring, coincidence will happen sooner or later.

The written text from the original post paraphrased in the re-post, isn’t a nice thing to do.

As for patents – preventative to the rights of another party, not implicit to the rights of the ‘inventor’ - It’s out of context to start with; tails of a bit in the middle, and the less said about the end the better

I acknowledge Desire to be the person to come forward with this build, but with all this put aside, has anyone tested these skills to solo the Nightfall bosses?

did the update make it so they will run away on this build? or is it still doable

solo green farming is still do-able even with the update dont know about using this build in nightfall but from what i tried after the update to the ai of monsters i was still able to kill the bosses

Ok gave this build a quick try and it works pretty good, farming Kaya´s daggers is a pushover.

But, have anyone had luck in farming the Darksong (spear) with this build?
For me it seems that he comes down to about 25% health when shadow form ends, and even though the resurrection shrine isn't that far away he is almost at full health when I can reach him, that plus the death penalty = not good.

Any idea´s?

Some mobs just have too much health and armor; rangers are indeed a lot harder to farm. What you can try is, for bosses with signets, bring rust, for rangers, shock +aftershock works well, and for most of them, just spamming obsidian flame while SF is active is enough; Since the last ignores armor, you could try that on the darksong guy. Note that i find it much more effective if you are a e/a, you can achieve a +20 sliver armor (offhand, blessing, glyph of elemental power) which will be deadly. The duration of shadow form isn't much of a problem because you can always shadow of haste away from the boss if it doesn't work ont he first try.

Also, I know this boss especially is alone with a few mokeles; try to walk around the palace and see if you can pull another mob group. The more you have hitting you, the better. I advise you to take obsidian flame because if the hits target the boss, and there are mobs near him, he will most likely run away from you when near death.

I have two questions.

Anyone know where Zelnehlun Fastfoot is now in the Floodplains after the last patch?

Also, is there a skill to use against elite skills or something? I fight stuff that gets through Shadow Form somehow. I know signets do but stuff like Ravenous gaze gets through and kills me in one hit.

No idea, I'm not that far into the NF campaign.

However, I'll mention that this build works GREAT in Nightfall. Some of the bosses I've successfully used it on:

Jerneh Nightbringer
Bubahl Icehands
Eshim Mindclouder
Mahto Sharptooth
somethin Skybringer (air magic staff)
Modhi somethin (curses staff)
Admiral Kaya
Robah Hardback


Generally, for a lot of the above bosses, switching Dash out for Shadow Refuge is required; dervishes and touch skills are prevalent in NF.

Also activating Dark Escape right when you START combat is an excellent damage mitigator; it doesn't cancel out so long as you don't attack, and it halves the damage of the dervish/necro skills that penetrate shadow form.

Guild Wiki has problem. It says Ssaki, Wing Three Blade, and Sun the Quivering are doable but THEY ARE NOT. I am E/A and can't kill them their armors are too thick to penetrate.

However, I found new boss that are not listed in Guild Wiki which are:

Chung the Attuned, Mina Shatter Storm,Baubao Wavewrath, Cho Sprit Empath, and Ziinfaun Lifeforce. Sliver Armor targets them 100%. Milefaun as well( tough to get there but works fine once sliver targets him with enough mob)

Also i think these bosses are only duable with E/A only ( 90% sure) which are: The Dream Hunter, Milefaun Mindflayer, and Rahse Windcatcher. Sliver armor targets them 100% (except Dream hunter if zone has forrest still with dp I killed him)

My Build for these three bosses are simple: dark escape,shadow form,elemantal power glyph, sliver armor, Teinai's Crystals, Crystal wave, aftershock, and obsidian flame.


Result: 3 chung's focus, 1 baubo's shield, 5 windscratcher, 1Milefun staff, and 2 cho'c vice.

Thanks to: Desire who invented this amazing build I am so thankful to him I got so many greens cause of THIS BUILD thanks.

Problems: aoe spell can go through Shadow Form ( Lian's double dragon as instance), Sliver Armor doesn't target the boss always(constructs tank and ritualist esp Ssyn Coiled Grasp, time eater rarely
), sometimes boss run away at the end( sun reach and darkrrot entrop), and major problem seems to be getting there.

Successful rate FOR ME(e/a): 100% onesfactions only I didn't try luxon boss 100%): scar eater,Chung the Attuned, Mina Shatter Storm,Baubao Wavewrath, Cho Sprit Empath, Ziinfaun Lifeforce, The Dream Hunter,Rahse Windcatcher, and Woe Spreader( only I start from Gyala mission town).

90% -80% FOR ME(E/A): time eater, jayne( hard for me to get there), Ssyn Coiled Grasp( like Ironclaw kurzicks are easier for farm this guy) , constructs( except tanks and ritualist), strongroot, and Rien, the Martyr( watch out for traps one partner is preffered needs to trigger traps ) ,chkrr locust lord( I start from the Jade Quarry)

70% or lower FOR ME (E/A): sun reach ,Darkroot Entrop, Kyril Oathwarden, Ghial( hard for me to get there), and maybe more don't remember..Ironclaw( I am kurzick can't be resed there but when luxon had the town i killed him) ,Hukhrah Earthslove(sliver issues and hard to get there)

seems possible in fact it's not : Lian, Dragon's Petal(aoe spell), ssaki, Wing Blade, Sun the quivering(traps hard to get there), Orosen, Tranquil Acolyte( mesmer signet and sliver issues, Flower Spiritgarden( healing not many enemies), Chkkr locust lord( sliver issues), Shreadder( bleeding condition hard to get there), Ssuns, Blessed of Dwayna(sliver issues hard to get there),Chehbaba Roottripper( sliver issues),Arrahhsh Mountainclub( less enemies), Tomton Spiriteater(sliver issues), Ryver Mossplanter(armors but killed him 2 times), Arbor Earthcall( little enemy unfortunately),
Lou, of the Knives( hard to get there little enemy), Xuekao, the Deceptive( too little enemies),
Salke Fur Friend( thick armor traps!!!),Jin, the Purifier(signet interrupts), skill eater(sliver issues), and pain eater( sliver issues spirits are being target of sliver).

I have not tried these bosses but farmers are saying it’s doable which are: Kenrii Sea Sorrow, Assassin's Construct
, Reefclaw Ragebound, Untouched Ancient Ky, and Sword Ancient Kai.

I tried Kenrii Sea Sorrow ( hard to get there sliver issues) but got his staff eventually, Reefclaw Ragfebound( not enough mob to kill him but easier than Kenrii), and Assassin Construct( monk heals him and besides that works perfect)


BOTTOM LINE: Generally it's awesome but I watched Desires and other youtube videos many times and practiced many many times. Now I know what to do when I farm which one and how to get there efficiently. Got many green I got 19 greens( individually). THANK YOU DESIRE BUT IT IS NOT PERFECT FOR EVERY BOSS( NO OFFENSE) STILL THANK YOU THANK YOU DESIRE
