OK, I've been away from Guild Wars since about a month after the release of factions, as I was moving home and jobs (and country of residence, but that's another story).
When I left, there was a heated debate ongoing about a few things, notably though, whether or not Assassins were of any real use in a team.
Now I'm not talking about all the immature crap players that played as Assassins - that kind of person would be crap as any class.
I'm talking about whether at its core, if the Assassin class eventually proved it was worthwhile or whether this point is still debated.
Did any primary Sin builds come to the fore that showed the class in a positive light? The only build involving Assassin that had mainstream confidence back then was the Ranger/Sin build using the Sin's criticals to cause bleeding.
Been away for a while and wondering...

Well, there, has been the 8 man sin FoW. I think Assassins will stay outcasts. It's up to you to prove yourself to your PuG.

I still can't find groups for missions as an assassin with any regularity, so Yan is right, either you can prove your worth to a pug, or you're stuck on your own. The mentality of the large majority of people forming groups in pve is that sins are still utter crap and have no use except as a corpse for minion masters.

Not in european servers.

well ive seen it easier to get groups in proph, but factions is lightening up alittle. the skill update i think helped the sin sentiment but dont expect people spamming for your or our help.

I suffer from alot of discrimination regarding assasins, its very hard to get a group and when i do the first thing i hear is mostly "no assa"
Now i usually manage to convince the group that im worth it and i usually do prove that im worth it,i dont get much compliments (On any chars so this gives no evidence whatsoever) but i dish out much damage and die rarely or not at all.
Assasins are definetly worth it,but the majority simply is not smart enough to use an assasin to its fullest, when an assasin comes by that can utilize the class's full potential though,i am convinced that such a person is a very valuable asset to any team.
Still,as long as assasins are to complex for the average players they will always be discriminated.
