Lets face it, at the minute, its pretty mince. Extra character slots and skill unlocks are all it offers. So here is a few suggestions for ANET to implement which will increase revenue and provide things that are actually useful for its customers.
I will detail each idea and my reasoning. Try not to use this as a thread to slate the ideas, but as a means of enhanching the shop and the game....
Gold:
ANET has done such a successful job of nerfing the game for new players in their attempt to stop commercial ebay farmers (not very successfully), that people are going to buy ingame gold. So why not buy it off ANET. ANET get the revenue, and the commercial monks get put out of business. No more need for nerfing, no more scamming of player by thieving farmers, no more need for grinding.
Storage in pre-sear Tyria:
Why cant this be offered anyway. Starting characters in Cantha have access to storage, bags, runes etc, but not in Tyria. I have a pre-sear character i use to help guildies and new players. Storage and/or bags would be really useful.
A decent weapons crafter:
One that will make a weapon you choose. Pick your upgrades req etc, and get charged accordingly. (this could be an ingame crafter actually, with the gold bought off ANET to pay for it).
I know I would pay for a sword/axe with +5 energy, -10 armour attacking, -40hp, 20% enchant, and 10% furious but not always in the combinations ANET choose for their greens.
Allow 4 upgrades per weapon, and two per shield, and charge an absolute fortune for it.
Give it a skin that will show its speciality crafted (allows extra ingame kudos) and have it crafted customised so people cant try to create an ingame market for them.
Character transfer:
I have 3 accounts. Stupidly, I bought an account to use as storage and ended up using it. I now have good characters spread over the two accounts, and the 3rd used for stores. This, coupled with the account fame titles etc, means that I am loathe to get account based titles on one account, just to have to duplicate all the effort for another. Let us merge the accounts for a fee.
Guild hall armourer:
We have only been asking for this since game inception and only get a Xunlai agent. Give another storage agent where you can drop unneeded weapons and upgrades that would be good enough for new guildies. The shop could charge for extra storage slots for it. £1 for 5 slots or something like that.
Guild hall communal storage:
How about an agent that everyone in guild can add unneeded materials to, but that only the Guild Leader can withdraw from.
Game upgrades:
Hard to explain this one. Not everyone has bought Factions. How about letting them purchase the storage materials upgrade via the shop. Useful, but not worth buying a whole game for. Same with heroes. I would love the heroes on all my chars, but no way am i doing the quests repeatedly to get them.
Map access:
We have all been there. You are starting a new character. Say its your 6th or 7th. Do you really want to do all the missions and quests all over again. How about purchasing the map locations. Only allow it for accounts that have the location already unlocked on one character. That way, they get to enjoy the storyline once, and not get bored to tears doing the same missions/quests.
Larger runes of holding:
With all the various weapons, armours, etc I, and probably every other player ingame struggles with inventory. How about a bag upgrade?
Larger materials storage:
At present its 250 of each item. Why this limit? Let us buy more. A couple of quid would be worth it to allow 500, 750, or even 1000.
Stackable salvage kits:
Its obvious ANET arent going to allow stacking of normal salvage kits. I hate tying up an already tight inventory with salvage kits. One is never enough.
Keyring:
Self explanatory. I currentlly have slots tied up with Shiverpeak, Phantom, Obsidian, Kurzick and Canthan keys. How about a keyring to hold all these in one storage slot. with a limit of 250 keys of each type, with more capacity purchaseable. Will certainly help chest runners as well...
Just a few ideas. As I say, try not to just use this post to slate the ideas, but to enhance the shop. Perhaps the developers will take note and do something for the players that they want and will find useful
For those who still feel the need to slate the idea, just dont buy any of the upgrades...
