The zashen

Who are these people? when the factions free weekend period first came, an island popped up, controlled a by a group who called themselfs the zashen. they even control the entrance into the hoh via the starting area where u first meet up with your ghostly hero. They seem like a band of elite warriors, but why do they think they can control the entrance to the hoh?

Think of it this way..

This is what Acolyte Haitan explains about the Battle Isles:

"We [the Zaishen Order] serve as protectors of the Battle Isles, where stands the Great Temple of our lord Balthazar. The Isles are home to countless arenas in which we train with those deemed worthy of the honor.
Now that the ancient Tomb of the Primeval Kings is under assault, our lord commander General Yurukaro has ordered the arenas of the Zaishen opened to the people of Tyria. We have our own gateway into the Hall of Heroes, one that is, so far, safe from the taint of evil that enshrouds the Tombs. We of the Zaishen Order will also offer new combatants personal training on the way to the gladitorial hero."

so these guys work for balthazar, they serve to protect the hoh from the evil people in tombs, and they seek for a person to be the ultimant gladiator.
also, was there hoh before the factioons preview event?

Do you mean the infected Tombs of Primeval Kings?

The ToPK became infected just before the Factions Preview, giving a storyline reason for PvP to be moved to the Battle Isles. This move was because PvP needed to be core content, so that anyone with any chapter could access it.

wait a second. was there the tombs next to the dragons layre in pve before the preview? and is that the "infected" one? if it is, the pvp one is uninfected. so are there two different halls? or it it just from the point of view of the pvp/pve player?

You have it wrong......... The Real reason the Zaishen were created was to stop Gwen.... They failed miserablty though.........

Zaishen where canthans a long time ago, sailers or something, and there isnt more than one halls, just more than one portal (ie, theres another in charr controled northern ascalon)

They seem to me a large guild of soldies who are loyal to Balthazar and are very competitive. (hence they guard the battle isles and heroes ascent).
