Hero pet confirmation?

I remember reading in one of the recent Gaile Chat Logs that she said heroes would be able to have pets. I remember that people were commenting in the Preview event that the Heroes could charm pets but that they would disapear after entering a town. I was wondering if Gaile or anyone else from Anet could confirm whether Heroes will be able to have and keep pets as long as they have charm animal equiped or if the pets will disapear as they did in the preview.
I know that with the release this close, we'll all find out soon enough but this is something that i've been very curious about as it has potential for some really interesting game play.

Heroes during the event were not supposed to be able to have pets, probably because the AI for it wasn't finished. But they will have pets in the retail I'm sure of that.

During the event the hero´s charm skill did not lock after charming an animal....So you could have an army of flamingos , too bad I didnt know that during preview.

Why on earth would you want to have a whole army of flamingos?? they are pink and not that fearsome for gods sake A whole army of Spiders, Bears or wolves.. now that would be interesting Just imagine, 25 level 20 bears running towards the enemy.. that would be a sight for soar eyes

ever seen the movie: March of the penguins? they are cute critters, but not to bright Why on earth would you stand around in the blistering cold holding an egg? they can swim fine.. I would take my behind to the bahama's If I were them..

As was noted at the time, some elements of the Hero system were not yet fully complete at the time of the preview. Pets for heroes was one of those things. At release your ranger/* or */ranger Heroes will be able to correctly charm and utilise pets in the same way as a player.

Aw, damn. I wish I had known about the army of flamingos. That would have *RULED.*

With the ability to take HERO's with your character to charm animals from any GW chapter we should see a lot of Pet Parties.

I take back my comment about flamingo's being lame.. they look cool following that Koss around ^^
