A locally saved chat log

I was very surprised to discover that there is currently no way to save your chat log locally (i.e. on your own computer) when playing GW and nor is such a thing in the works (I've checked with ANet). Obviously, this is not something you would want to happen continuously as your hard drive would very quickly fill to max and Windows, etc. would probably crash and burn . . . I'm probably exaggerating a little but no one wants their hard drive filled with text files. At any rate, I have had multiple occassions where I've needed to reference things in my chat log only to discover that it's too far back and has been erased. Just wondering if I'm the only one desiring an option to save our chat box. Or that we could even highlight the text and manually save it (I'd settle for a little inconvenience). Or access it from ANet's servers even.

Your best bet is to just take a screenshot. Hit the "print screen" button.

As to reporting an incident; people just use screenshots for that and I think that Anet might have a log of some sort that probablly gets cleared regularly. The only reason I think that is cause they always say to report harassment and they'll investigate it; which sounds to me like they have some kind of log.
Professional runners have gotten used to keeping track of who paid and it would be much easier to just scribble down a note of who paid than to minimize the game, open the GW folder, then comb through a chat log.
