Anguish: Create a level 1...4 Spirit. This Spirit's attacks deal 5...17 damage and deal double damage to Hexed foes. This Spirit dies after 15...39 seconds.
Signet of Might: Target allied summoned creature's attacks deal 10...26 more damage. After 10 seconds, that creature is destroyed.
My question is, how do these combine with Painful Bond on a target?
Let's say Communing is set at 12 and painful bond does +17 dmg.
On a target with painful bond, Anguish should do 17 + 17 + 17 = 51 dmg per hit.
With Signet of Might does it become 51 + 26 = 77 dmg per hit?
OR
Does the base dmg of Anguish go to 17 + 26 = 43. And so you'd have 43 + 43 + 17 = 103 dmg per hit?

I would say it's the second one.
The wording on Signet of Might suggests the damage is added to the spirit's base damage. And Anguish's double damage is applied after base damage.
So...forget about adding Painful Bond. Add in some uber slow hexes from Mesmer or Water spells so your enemy won't run from your AWESOME spirit.
Note that Anguish have an unusually low level. So it's going to have very little hp, and will get killed very fast. 100+20x4=180 base health. 15 Spawning Power makes it, 288 hp. Signet of Binding +170=458. So yea...for 10 seconds, this will be your uber cannon.

assuming the double damage functions like a direct atack smite on undead the number would be doubled and as far as any othe enchantment type effect work it would be a plus after base damage even though it does not state it as +dmg i still is stated as additinal dmg... either case the effects of that double damage by definition do not include effect that increase its dmg in the first place meaning that only the spirits actual dmg is double not other effects on it.
(17*2)+26+17
would be awsome the other way though
and yes i could be completely wrong... but i do believe anet would be conscious of applying the dmg to the point where the spirit deals 103 direct armor ignoring dmg evrey 2 seconds specially since they suggested the whole Anguish/stength/painfull bond combination
