Searching proved somewhat fruitless, so...

The description reads "Transfer all negative conditions". Don't worry, I fully understand the conditions bit, but it's the Transfer part I'm curious about.

Does it simply "Copy" the conditions and remaining durations over to foes, leaving the condition on the original victim too, or does it remove the condition from the original victim in the process?

(Hope that was clear enough)

Does this help?

Despite the literal definition of the word "transfer", Epidemic actually does copy the conditions to the adjacent foes while leaving the conditions on the original target.

From GuildWiki:
-The condition transfer keeps the condition on the target, and simply duplicates itself on other victims.

If you want to actually get rid of the conditions, the necro plague skills/signet are your friends...also, use in conjunction with Virulence to really get some bang for your buck.

Its not that hard to figure out. Its called Epidemic... so it mean that it spreads to other characters too, just like in real life. It doesnt mean that it cures the the original victim.

I agree with the OP - it is a misleading description, and "Transfer" implies the original target will be cured. Perhaps 'Spread' would be better, ANet?

Axis, anyone who's played GW should learn pretty quickly that the game is nothing like real life. For example, the Necro Hex, Rigor Mortis:

In real life (or death :P):

Rigor mortis affects the facial musculature first and then spreads to other parts of the body. It is caused by chemical changes in the muscle tissue. The state of rigor usually lasts about 24 hours or until muscle decomposition takes place by acid formation.

(Note that the foe has to be alive for this spell to be even worth having in your build)

theres a difference between using rigor mortis as a name, and using it as a definition.
if the skill read "this causes rigor mortis, which disables the enemies' ability to block or evade attacks" THEN it would just be going too far.
but, to say it "transfers" the conditions, while leaving them on the initial target, is just impropper use of vocabulary. its misleading, and the description should either be changed, or the way the skill acts, so when someone reads it they dont think "oh, it does this, this and this" when it in fact, only does 1 or 2 of the implied effects.

granted, this is an easy oversight to miss with alpha&beta testing, but im sure someone has brought it up to anet before.

That was... kind of the point I was trying to get across to Axis... Axis believes that, because the spell is called Epidemic, it would work like a real-life epidemic. But it's not the name that best describes a skill, it's the description itself.
