Starting place for existing characters.

I was thinking about this today while running my wife’s character to Lions Arch. Where will our existing characters begin play in Nightfall?

When Factions came out we traveled from Lions arch to Kaineng Center via a quest. Quite a ways from Sing Jea Monastery and we did not begin on Noob Island. Obviously there is not a need to start us as new characters in Istan, so how will we be introduced to Koss and the rest of the crew? Where in Cantha and Tyria will we get the quest(s) to travel to Elonia to fight this evil arisen?

Any guesses and or speculation?

at the end of the preview, the sunspears get ready to head to kourna, i assume they call for reenforcements from other nations along with the Zaishen.

so, it will prolly take us to Kamadan since all current info points to that as the main Elona hub

if Factions is to be used as a base for thought, you'd arrive at the same town the storyline takes you to after you leave noobland (well, more or less; kaineng is close to the marketplace, anyway).

from the mag. Existing characters travel to Kamadan 1st. (a hop/skip from start.lol) so I guess existing characs need to start off in the starter island too.

i think the reason for starting at kamadan is

gotta go through story to get heros.. otherwise u miss out on 5heros.
miss out on a chunk of the story line AND sunspear rank quest (im assuming lightbringer is the equivalent on the mainland)

Yeah, this is what I thought.

hmm. wouldnt that mean existing characs wont be able to get "koss" since you get him b4 kamadan.

either that or the 1st quest for existing characs from someone in kamadan gets you Koss. (or you run into him later?)

We'll likely start at the point after the aforementioned scene (where they are heading to Kormuna.) All of the previews indicate that.

Then we'll likely be given the 5 starter Heroes for free.

Yeah, I was thinking that too.

According to the latest NZGamer article Koss is required for the fourth mission (Cemetary of Dunahm), so there's some way to recruit him before then. And according to the latest Gamespot and IGN articles it's possible to go back and recruit all of the heroes with the same character after the final mission.

During the Factions PVE preview you started in the Marketplace but when you went outside you were at Maatu Keep.
