Preorder Grace Period

With factions, people who preordered got a few days where they could play using their preorder key before they needed to go and pick up the actual game from the shop.

Does anyone know if anything similar is in place for nightfall? I know that there will be no early access for nightfall.

So far magic eight ball says all signs point to no.

We didn't get a "preorder" key actually. It's a "bonus pack" key.

It was supposed to only be 1day headstart. But due to the screwup with the collectors edition they increased it to like 5days.. No headstart for Nightfall so no few days or even one day... atleast that what it looks like at the moment

No, it was originally a 1 day headstart, and a 3 (I think) day grace period. They extended it for a few more days later.

I'm not talking about early access.

For factions, a preorder would get you early access (Thursday, I believe)
Then, on Friday, everyone was able to play.

If you had a preorder key, then you could play using that, with no retail key on your account, for a few more days (until about monday). This was to give people who had preordered time to go and get their games from the store. This period was later extended (partially because of the CE delays, probably)

I'm asking about the possibility of a similar grace period, or whether I have to go to the store on friday and pick up the game before I can play.

you will have to go to the story fryday to get it. Well Gaile said that some storys will put it out 1-2early. So my plain is to go their wensday and thursday to see if its out and hopefull it will be. But thats becuase i want the CE verson of the game.

But if you don't care and just plain to get the plain old box and not the CE, you can buy it off the store as well.

There is no known grace period for Nightfall.

No, wait a minute has this been discussed before and they answered “no” to it, I mean the PR people answered this right? Anyways that means I personally will have to stay away from the forums till I actually get it; I have mine preorder form EB games so I to wait 10:00pm pacific time or later. Congrats to the people who get it just before the server goes live I envy you guys.

I hope I can sneak over to Compusa and grab my CE on Thursday so I'm ready to roll on Friday when the servers go live. It would be nice if we even just got the first day grace period so we can play those few hours before we get around to going out to pick up the game.

It would show excellent customer support by Anet to do this thing. I do hope they do that.

will be checking at frys come thursday.....and if not then when it opens on fryday! Hope they get a copy, cant see myself going to walmart and trying to speak spanish to get a copy (the walmart here is in a spanish neighborhood).......and best buy is always late.....that doesnt leave many other places not online to go....well maybe need to get out the yellow pages and see if there is an actual gamesnot store around here......

so hope for thursday.....
and no early access, they would have told us about that by now if they were going to do it.

Grace period was made because of the error anet made, it wasnt a planed thing. So no it wont happen. you should try reading others posts and head your own words

The grace period was NOT made because of the error. It was EXTENDED because of the error. The grace period was always for the weekend. It was extended because of the CE problems. I don't think the original grace period had anything to do with early access.

Unfortunately, I created a thread in the Q&A section because I didn't recognize that this thread covered the same topic from the title. Oops...

I asked about the grace period several times last time Gaile was on. I even changed up how I asked the question every time. But all I got was that there was no early access period.

I'm guessing we will still get the one day grace period, but I have no proof.

Gaile hasn't said anything about a Grace Period, and there is no information about it in the Nightfall FAQ on Guildwars.com.

Really no one knows and there no need to continue any speculation. Most likely there won't be one.
