New policy for SS join - Rollcall of 55 Block scammers

One of the major attractions of uw is that you can get the ecto..

Picture the scene.

You are a SS.

You have asked for a 55 with Spell breaker to do UW

Bit strange that the 55 isn't using spell breaker.......

You have just cleared the Grasping nightmares and are just about to go under the arch....

When the 55 runs off round the corner...leaving u behind...you cant go any further cos of the axas and the 55 starts killing the smites, getting all the loot for himself..

Reason - he got Shield of Judgment and has conned u.

How many times have i seen this....loads...

After talking on the guildguru irc chat a new policy has been suggested to me which i have been using...

Ask for 55/SB - and only pay when they show u SB in underworld.

If they don't.....then only pay when you have done the smites....

I'm sick of these monk block scammers - it takes the fun out of farming....

Also i would like to start a roster of those monks that do this...

All the monk is doing is using the SS to clear the first area...

Also for the good monks that are ok, add them to your friends so u know u can trust them

TBH u should be able to name scammers....and of course it can be abused..

Then again if nothing is done.....and they dont get there name somewhere...there gonna think it ok.....

but of course it should be subject to the board rules..

then again...the policy should be posted and made a sticky

To OP, you should know from forum rules that you are not allowed to name scammers here. You should remove this post before the admin do. I understand your upset, however naming and shaming can be abused.

the solution> Take Illusion of haste in one of your open slots, voila, you cant be scammed

To respond to the OP, there is a very good reason we dont allow naming as such,


lets say i decide i just plain dont like you, or i want to make trouble, or somebody in your guild screwed me over


all i have to do is say

"Lucky Lamba" Screwed me over!

Now you'll have hell getting into a duo run, even though you havent done anything wrong

The reason we dont do this is just plain common sense, anyone in a bad mood can screw sombody over big time

Dont kill grasping darknesses for them, When i see they dont use Spell breaker and start using zealots fire and retribution etc, I simply agro all i can on top of them xD

had this done to me many times
have 5 monks in a row that did this to me day before yesterday
that was when i started uw farming on my SS
now if they dodn't use sb i just turn on the quest and agro everything i can to the monk

I have a policy of only playing SS for my friends. PUG 55's are usually a total failure: either they ditch you and go for the smites as the OP described, or they just do a crappy job in general, like dying for no apparent reason(I let the first death go because it's entirely possible that lag caused it. It's after the second that I got annoyed.) In all other cases, I play as the 55. Can't believe how many SS'es are stunned to have someone who can speak English and use SB. :P

I think spliting the fee after you get inside is probably the best way. Another way might be to zone to the curtain and show SB. If they're scammers, they might just switch to SoJ after getting back in, but this might help eliminate people who just don't have SB, or people who can't understand english enough to get any kind of communication going.

Heh, another suggestion I would make is for all the 55 monks to use spirit bond instead of healing breeze, that way you can get 3 groups of aatxes, and the quest group in the beginning of UW no sweat. Btw... spirit bond works when you have 55 hp.

Idea is that if you show SB right at the very start.....before u even start -

Then the SS gives u the 500g...

Of course if the monk is a scammer and hasnt got SB, Then of course the SS dont pay...

IF the monk has got SOJ instead.....pay when your doing the smites...

And point taken about the naming bit....just soooo pissed off about it.

i just dont go uw with pugs

i am a monk and i rather chat with a guildie for the 1 hour being there then with a random guy

I've been using this for a couple of days now...and it works....

monks dont want to know are usally those that block people in....

and another point....no good them showing u outside in black curtain...cos they can change skills....

got to be in uw.....

any chance a admin can alter it...take the roll call of the title???

just leave it as a policy...for uw farming...

55 with SOJ is no different to 2 man UW exploiting the add feature to prevent solo UW

You can't get scammed out of "all that ecto" if you simply leave when you see that they don't use SB...just ask them to show it when they're in UW. If they don't, you leave.

The most direct way would be to map to beacons perch, travel down lornars pass to the grenth temple and enter underworld there. Of course, thats a bit complicated for 500g. So far, the best suggestion I've seen is to take illusion of haste, you already have points in illusion magic, and just run with him to the smites, and then wonder out loud why we skipped the previous room.

yawn...there was a thread similar to this last week anyway...
if u dont see the monk using spellbraker and u see him using zealots fire,why do u kill for him and later u cry bout it...? r u so cheap that 500g means a world to u....
i do UW only with my friends,and if i get a solo monk... I dump him in the 1st second he uses zealots or start the agroo from the right stairs....
