Okay, i've noticed this since the change to this damn Board Tracker thing.Anytime I click on a persons name in the forum and choose to Find more posts by "" it instead brings up some crappy Board Tracker page that then just shows me all the threads this person has created instead.
If I click on the persons profile... and I choose Find all posts by "" ... same thing. It's really obnoxious, there must be some way to fix this.
If I choose.... Find all threads started by "" I get this:
No threads were found for that member (Unnamed) on Guild Wars Guru Forums
What the Red Mother Engine Friggen Gored? I've tried signing up for this boardtracker and screwing with the settings but no dice. Not that I should have to do that anyhow... So. Any solutions to this?
Find all posts by "", Is not working.

wG has changed the method that we can look up threads/posts by a user. In the past, it would show all consecutive posts and threads from present day till about a month before that.
The new method looks as if it utilizes another sight, which it seems is supposed to look through the Forum databases and find all posts/threads of the user you are searching under.
However, since day one of this new method, it does not work properly and remains as such. I always used to use this method to follow up on thread discussions. Now, that is impossible. The current system is NEVER up to date, often doesn't find ANY searched for threads, and if threads/posts are found, they are random ones from random days, not consecutive.
This feature is alltogether busted, broken and dissapointing.
Sorry, fact is, just another broken GWG feature... sigh*
cheers!

I mean i've known about this for awhile but It never really bothered me since I don't post on the forums much. But I want to be able to see Alex and Gaile Greys posts when I want to and because of this god awful searching system I can't properly. Why the hell did they change to this rediculously poor system? Here, want to see how bad it is? Go type "Gaile Grey" into the search box. Now make sure you select "Select Results By: Thread start date". The 3rd topic down was made in " 01:22 16-Aug-06" You telling me that the 3rd recent time her name was mentioned was back in 'August? This system is junk, please get rid of it.
Searching users posts is a very important option for forums and the fact that this forum isn't fixing this feature even though it's been broken for so long is very dissapointing.
If you agree with me on this please say so and let your voice be heard.

Seems it was a tradeoff, no search or junky search to offset the server load searching creates.
And yeah, I miss the old searching. One place I know of did an interesting twist on this. Auto searches for the most common things searched for, then if one of those aren't what you're after it lets you do a normal search (egosoft.com forum).

use Google and type in your search like this:
username inurl:www.guildwarsguru.com
When the results come up click the link on the bottom that says, " repeat the search with the omitted results included."
Unfortunately, the search will return posts in no particular order, but at least its a heck of alot better than BoardTracker.
Click this for the idea:

well, I feel special now.
Every time I tried to look for threads I have contributed to that dumb thing always comes back with 'unnamed' threads.....never mine. So I feel better knowing that I am not alone in this and that its a bad search engine.....
still have no way (other than subscribing, yikes
) to find stuff I wrote a while back, oh well.
