I have decided to get the Nightfall Collectors Edition, but Ive heard that it contains only a DVD version of the game. I dont have a DVD drive. I have Prophecies and Factions installed, so I just wanted to know if I actually need to install anything. Will I EVER need to use that disk? Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.
Do I Need To Install Anything?

From what I understand there are a bunch of extra features on the DVD but that the game itself ships on a CD like everything else. But no, none of the disks in the box are needed to play the game, just the access key.
As a side note, DVD drives are pretty darn cheap, so you could just buy one for future use.

When Nightfall releases, the servers will lag like hell because everyone will be downloading the new files instead of needing the discs.

Actually, according to ArenaNet, we already have most of the files needed for Nightfall on our computers already.
Back when they did the last Nightfall preview, everybody was sent most of the files needed to play Nightfall. And those files are constantly being updated. However, expect some delays when your first log on when it becomes actove, as everybody is sent the files to "unlock" the additional game.
One thing about the way the GW games work, is that it is constantly updating everybody. And as long as you have one of the games installed, you actually have all of them. There is also a "cache" variable, which looks at how much free space you have. The more free space available, the more content will automatically be installed.
When I got Factions, I had maybe 10 gigs free. And when I installed the key, it had to download a lot of addional files. The same thing with the Nightfall preview.
However, a few weeks ago I got a new drive and reloaded GW. This time, I had over 100 GB free. It took forever to download, but when it was done I had both Prophacies and Factions fully installed. When I enter a new area of the game, the content is already there.
But on my Laptop, it is a different story. Once again it has a much smaller amount of free space, so it takes time to download new areas. I will probably install Nightfall on it, just to speed up that load time.
